  • LOL!!!

  • Who played the giant?

  • @OxBigly2010 Jerry Nelson, the same guy who does the voice of the "Count" and many other sesame street characters.

  • Jack sounds like Scooter from the Muppets, must be the same guy.

  • "Sesame Street never blows the story"?! Kermit, Sesame Street news ALWAYS blows the story! lol.

  • @foxxyloxx It's just a motto!

  • Damn, the giantis even creepier than I remember him!

  • Terrifying. This sketch scared me. I hated to see the giant at the end. But now that I'm an adult I like to quote him..."They always come to visit, but they never stay!"

  • this was super funny

  • lol @ the face at around 2:06-2:08.

  • "Jack must have been in great shape." he's got a point

  • JACK SOUNDED LIKE SCOOTER

  • SHOOT....i feel like the giat alotta times(always comin to visit but never stay)

  • Hahahaha.. love this! Thought Kermit should just jump down since he's a frog.

  • How does Jerry Nelson's voice naturally sound? Cuz here, he was like Harry Monster in human form lol....I recognized the voice right away :)

  • @sweetlife031 His natural voice sounds similar to Floyd Pepper

  • Kermit, how can you forget about the giant.

  • Jerry Nelson looked alot like Jim Henson

  • The giant sort of looked like the King from the Zelda CD-I games. I'm surprised this hasn't been worked into a Youtube Poop yet. And yes, I am aware that Jerry Nelson is the giant. But the way he looked in this sort of reminded me of the King.

  • Was the cameraman in a helicopter?

  • @Zwei4815 Maybe he was on some kind of lift. Also, did they have female puppeteers back then, besides Fran Brill, I mean? they could've used one of them as the giant.

  • "Aww they often come to visit, but they never stay." XD

  • was the giant...george carlin?? lmao. he looks like george carlin did in the 70's.

  • "Jack must have been in great shape" lol

  • Hey, Jack has Scooter's voice!

  • That's because both were voiced by Richard Hunt.

  • Classic...

  • Jerry Nelson was PERFECT!

  • Hahhahahaa

  • LOL the giant is a human!

  • @brokoks thanks for giving it away! :( hahah

  • If Kermit is climbing up the beanstalk, how is the camera filming him without the usage of a helicopter?

  • @Darren50001 magic

  • @Darren50001 Anchient Aliens

  • was the jaent jim henson

  • @Skyoneer2007 No, it was Jerry Nelson

  • @wileyk209zback oh cool Jerry Nelson talked for gobo fraggle from fraggle rock

  • Kermit & Ernie were my favorite characters on seasame street. :)

  • kermite news is one of my favoruite

  • hat sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Finally, this is up in good quality! :-D

  • "Oh, high ho. Kermit the Frog."

  • Classic Sesame, the best!

For all your custom-built puppet needs visit Oliver's website on the profile link above.

  • Thde "third thing" that Jack finds is actually a bag of gold. And usually it's a hen that lays golden eggs, not a goose.

  • nice teeth hillbilly

  • I might be wrong but, I think this was the only Sesame Street news where Kermit didn't interview a fairy tale character. Also, it was a little surprising how Kermit was afraid of the Giant since Kermit's not part of the story of "Jack And The Beanstalk", and Kermit has interviewed a lot of the fairy tale villians (including the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs) and Kermit was never scared of those villians and those villians answered his questions nicely and politely.

  • Everyone should check out the new fractured fairy tale called Jack and the Cheese Stalk on lulu, com

    its HILARIOUS!!!! :D

  • Kermit had a point, Jack really had to be in shape to climb a beanstalk this long, haha

  • Holy Crap, ITS JERRY NELSON

  • Herry Monster as a giant human being!

  • jack must have been fit

  • BIG CLAUD

  • Wow!

  • i'm suprised how sesame street still can entertain me after so many years.

  • teh giant had a crown on his tooth O_o

  • "Sesame Street News never blows a story."

    Now that's dedication!

I just love the simulated climbing up the beanstalk, the way Henson gives Kermit a slightly out-of-breath sound.

Love the determination when he goes:

Anyhow, *ergh!* up and up I climb!

  • Jerry Nelson!

  • OMG I LOVE KERMITE <3

  • I love love love the intro music...totally newcast-y

  • They often come to visit, but they never stay. LOL

  • that was scary!

  • LOL Jerry Nelson as the giant.LOL

And Jack sounds like Scooter. RICHARD HUNT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MUPPETEERS! :)

  • Address To 67

  • Geez, the giant need to get his teeth checked once in a while! Bleech! =oS

  • If this sketch came out in 1989, that meant I was four when I first saw it. I remember being TERRIFIED of the giant's teeth (scary teeth and eyes in general used to freak me out like nothing else). Watching it again for the first time in twenty years, I don't see what the fuss is about. :)

  • Actually, this specific one is from the 1970's.

  • Well, in any case, I remember it vividly from when I was little.

  • lols. luvit!

  • Cute.

  • r.i.p kermit!

  • Don't you mean R.I.P. Jim Henson? Kermit's still alive, he's just voiced by someone else now

  • Yeah, Steve Whitmire.

  • I love this sketch so much, and thanks for posting the great quality one.

  • the giant looks like a hobo.

  • That is Jerry Nelson. Muppet performer for nearly 40yrs

  • omg i totally love these videos they r soooo awesome

  • What a great video and with better quality too! Could you please post the Sesame Street News Mary Had A Little Lamb? I miss that one. Thanks again!

  • That is muppeteer Jerry Nelson as the giant.

  • That's excellent trivia!

  • @YodaBannon They should have had two giants, with the second one being Jim Henson.

  • @Angie2343 No, the Giant being Jim entierly! Think: Kermit being scared of his own father!

  • @ZNKChannel That's Jerry Nelson not Jim Henson!

  • @collgoff I was talking about Angie2343's comment saying 2 giants, Jim AND Jerry, being better.

  • @ZNKChannel I know!

  • Finally, we have this sketch in better quality.

  • The giant is Jerry Nelson (who also plays Gobo Fraggle, Feenie Fraggle, Fishfave Fraggle, Mervin Fraggle and Uncle Gobo Fraggle, Gobo's great-uncle and namesake)

  • Thank you I always wanted to know who he was.

  • I think that actually changes the logo sometime in the eighties or 90s

  • You can tell they replaced the old Sesame Street News Flash logo at the beginning

  • Which I hate.

  • Yeah, why not leave the old News Flash logos alone? They look very similar; it's not like the Monsterpiece Theater or Super Grover title card upgrades.

  • Well, I believe this sketch first aired back in 1989, and this version of the title card was first used around 1986. Therefore, there was never anything plastered in the first place.

  • Actually there is another version of this skit with the 1974 logo (it is called "Kermit and the Beanstalk (Vintage Sesame Street)" , but be warned, the quality is atrocious).

Then again, some Sesame Street News skits such as the ones for Hey Diddle Diddle and Aladdin's Lamp never originally had a News Flash logo in the first place.
