I used to work retail in bookstores. My last job was at a "big box bookstore" in the computer books/software/business books section. I have a million stories.

One evening I was called to cash to "confer" with a customer" about computer books (tell him what had already been told to him by the person at cash but with whom he was arguing). I asked "How can I help you?"

I swear to God!!!....

"Yes" (why do they answer "HOW" with "Yes"???). He indicated a pile of what appeared to be very well used

After working retail for several years (furniture sales) I never brought up an "extended warranty".. it would leave the customer with the question: "WHY do I need a warranty"? Is this chair / sofa / bed etc. such poor quality that it's expected to fall apart ?

My favorite is when I'm working at Rue21 and someone walks up to me and asks, "Excuse me sir, but is this on sale?" Mother fucker are you blind?! It clearly says SALE on the rack with all the other shirts of that sort, only in different sizes.
