@0705764 Gary Mar is a Chinese politician running for premier of Alberta. If elected he will be the first person of Chinese descent to do so. I would challenge the notion that Toronto, Montreal, NYC, and especially Paris are more ethnically diverse in terms of Politics. Alberta also has the country's first mayor of middle eastern descent: Naheed Nenshi.
