  • nice video i use to live in abilene use to love the svr storms

  • Haha, it was a pretty dry summer. We usually see some pretty bad storms around during the spring and summer. Not to mention that we were hit by hurricane Ike a couple of months ago.

  • oh shit.. i am moving to houston soon and i was hoping for sun lol. but that has scared the shit out of me.. nice video

  • Yeah, we don't have any sirens here in Houston, even through we do get our fair share of tornadic storms. I believe Katy as an old tornado siren but does not use it any more.

  • Nice video. This was what I was hoping to get on camera for those two days. My damn camera ran out of battery the second day (18th) and the video did not come out well. I recorded the one the day before(the 17th) in my location in Fort Bend County. We got very small hail, but nothing like what you recorded. I hope to get something significant recorded soon in the way of a severe storm. Would make it even more dramatic with storm sirens, but I'll probably have to go to Dallas/Ft. Worth for that.

  • Thanks! Yeah, sorry for the crappy quality of the video. The original file was about 400mb so it took a lot of compression to get it on here, lol. I will post a shorter video of just the large hail in a bit.

  • Awesome shot of the bolt of lightning at 7:55 - really pretty against the dusky pink of the sunset

  • @ayla1209

Do you know the name of the subdivision that this storm occurred in? Thanks

  • Nope; you might try asking the person who posted the video :-)
