Better b/c the studio can tweek things. When people sing live it tells you what they need to work on as a performer. Sometimes it just nerves. I myself had to work on that and breath support.
Loved Danny. Glad he was 3rd. But Kradam still takes the cake with me. And Kris deserved the win in my eyes. But I would not have been mad at all if it had been Danny. He's incredibly talented. Love his performances, and love his CD :)

I can see your point wc2k6. He came 2 Idol with the intention 2 crossover from where he was. Perhaps it would be in his best interest to cut an album of songs that he wants to do, and work it from there? Kris Allen was more musically giften than any of the other three. He was actually able to make his own arrangements of songs when it mattered. That's why he won. You can find great vocalists almost anywhere, but true music talent is hard to come by.
Most notably Heartless. He also re-arranged She Works Hard for the Money. Adam's versions were covers. Ring of Fire was previously sang by a woman on a televised vocalist hunt (I forget the band it was for). Feeling Good was the Muse's. Mad World was Michael Andrews/Gary Jules. One was arranged by Lambert and Cowell. That's all I remember off the top of my head.
yes, heartless was re-arranged, but the other weren't. they were adaptions. he himself has said that he was not the greatest singer on that competition and that his vocal abilities were not great, that's why he picked easy songs. did he show vocal range in someone of them? no. on the other hand, the other top 4 were all great singers and had great vocals. if he tries to make career by re-arranging songs, he is doomed, because he is going to be a recording artist, one who amazes with voice.
Ok, the last part of your comment made no sense. You said he had a bad voice but then you said he would have to amaze with his voice. "She works..." was a rearrangement, listen to the original. Why would any person try to make a career out of doing covers? Kris Allen has already made an album, and he's working on another new one right now. Allen, Iraheta, and Lambert were all signed by 19. Gokey is the only unsigned person from the top 4 because he has no musical identity.
i do agree on the last part. i am saying that, people liked him because he showed artistry by re-arranging song. but people are going to buy his songs in the future. they are not going to be impressed by the arranging, they are going to want to be impressed by the singing. and in that department, he is not as impressive as the other two. i should have said, one who is supposed to amaze with voice.
Now we're getting to somewhere that we agree. The only reason I brought up arrangements is because on AI that's all they're allowed to do. That's why I say it shows his ability. He took a song (Heartless) that was a known Hip-Hop song and actually made it sound really good and entirely different. I honestly think that's why he won. Truth be told I liked Anoop's and Danny's voices the best (at least until the scream).
i liked anoop too. i hate thinking he got cut off that early. truth be told though, on top 13 anoop started to sing only ballads, cause he was told they made him look good. i think he could do many more genres than he did. danny... good voice, don't see him as a successful recording artist. i wouldn't buy his cd, probably...
anyhow, i think, and people may blame me for this, he was making a figure of his Dead Wife (may she rest in peace). on any show, he wanted people to feel sorry for him. or adore him for being strong.
His voice is different, but he has no definitive sound. For example, you know Allison and Adam will be doing Rock. Anoop will be doing R&B. Kris will be doing Alternative in the shape of Jason Mraz, and so on. Gokey was all over the place, he never truly picked a Genre or type of music to stick with, and that's what the industry's problem is with him. They know how his voice sounds, but they have no idea how his music will sound, at all.
Just more proof that a Kradam top 2 was the way to go! Adam totally rocked Aerosmith! And yes, I am a loyal minion of our Dark Lord Screamanova. A.k.a. Glambert #2340!

yes, heartless was re-arranged, but the other weren't. they were adaptions. he himself has said that he was not the greatest singer on that competition and that his vocal abilities were not great, that's why he picked easy songs. did he show vocal range in someone of them? no. on the other hand, the other top 4 were all great singers and had great vocals. if he tries to make career by re-arranging songs, he is doomed, because he is going to be a recording artist, one who amazes with voice.

Ok, the last part of your comment made no sense. You said he had a bad voice but then you said he would have to amaze with his voice. "She works..." was a rearrangement, listen to the original. Why would any person try to make a career out of doing covers? Kris Allen has already made an album, and he's working on another new one right now. Allen, Iraheta, and Lambert were all signed by 19. Gokey is the only unsigned person from the top 4 because he has no musical identity.

i do agree on the last part. i am saying that, people liked him because he showed artistry by re-arranging song. but people are going to buy his songs in the future. they are not going to be impressed by the arranging, they are going to want to be impressed by the singing. and in that department, he is not as impressive as the other two. i should have said, one who is supposed to amaze with voice.

Now we're getting to somewhere that we agree. The only reason I brought up arrangements is because on AI that's all they're allowed to do. That's why I say it shows his ability. He took a song (Heartless) that was a known Hip-Hop song and actually made it sound really good and entirely different. I honestly think that's why he won. Truth be told I liked Anoop's and Danny's voices the best (at least until the scream).

i liked anoop too. i hate thinking he got cut off that early. truth be told though, on top 13 anoop started to sing only ballads, cause he was told they made him look good. i think he could do many more genres than he did. danny... good voice, don't see him as a successful recording artist. i wouldn't buy his cd, probably...

Danny Gokey has plenty of musical identity...you can tell it's him no matter what--he doesn't sound like anybody else in the musical industry.

His voice is different, but he has no definitive sound. For example, you know Allison and Adam will be doing Rock. Anoop will be doing R&B. Kris will be doing Alternative in the shape of Jason Mraz, and so on. Gokey was all over the place, he never truly picked a Genre or type of music to stick with, and that's what the industry's problem is with him. They know how his voice sounds, but they have no idea how his music will sound, at all.
