CNN kind of missed a key element to this case. The U.S. stated that if a missile was fired towards the direction of Hawaii, we would take military action. To which North Korea stated if they were to become the victim of a UN or U.S. operation, they would defend themselfs and "wipe the U.S. off the map". They didn't out right say, "hey, lets wipe the U.S. off the map"
