LOL I give you props for the video but even Chris Martin was reported saying in MTV's Behind the Scenes and various music mags that even he doesn't hold a true meaning of the song. He used 'yellow' because he was thinking of a word to fit in the song and he looked at nearby 'yellow pages' in the room he was in and used it. He and the band also thought of 'yellow' to be a color of happiness, light, and comfort. Everyone else's interpretations is just everyone else's own interpretations.

I heard somewhere(i forgot where though) that initially the video was supposed to be filmed with the whole band walking on the beach and at the end the sun would show the color yellow. But it coincided with one of the band menber's mother's death. And since they had already paid for the shoot and had not expected the death they told Martin to go shoot while the rest attended the funeral.

Well, technically, Chris Martin had already written the lyrics, but he still needed a word to tie them all together. It was then that he looked over and noticed an issue of the Yellow Pages. The rest is history :)

When my brother died and I was soooooooooo sad I heard this song for the first time and I felt like he and God were singing it to me to give me hope and want to keep living.

@4elFROMEKB Well, I figured it's symbolically speaking. Skin and bones turning yellow equals entire body turning contaminated? However, it's just a theory.
