Telepathe have curated Carbonlogic.co.uk's latest release called 'Cycle #10' and it features an exclusive remix that they have done for upcoming rapper AZitiZ. Definitely worth checking out.
@theinternet1984 What's wrong with listening to Iraqi pop music? Why does it have to be some negative thing anytime someone mentions something that's maybe different or obscure? Like someone can't be genuinely interested and affected by something that's not common.
the first time i listened to sinister militia coupla years ago i was so hooked i was stuck on repeat for several days. i was one of those people anticipating Dance Mother more than any other release but was totally disappointed by,an overproduced record, lacking its own distinctive style, they could have gone in the vein of Siniter Militia mode and created something of a unique.why d.sitek-produced record must so awesome thats coz he is d. sitek?
a bunch of overhyped twats, the album took a long time to be produce and the outcome is a crap, whoever says that the record is awesome is a retard or has to fit in the current Pitchfork-imposed hipster waves
they are totally pretentious, several years earlier they were on The Social Registry label, when all the Gang Gang ance & Psychic Ills were so trendy and experimental and avant and all, they got lumped as the made that pseudo-avant Farewell Forest, slightly better Sinister Militita ep and then employing Mr Sitek to produce Dance Mother:their newly found inspiration thru dupstep and grime and citing The Bug as the influence, wtf?
looking forward to seeing these tomorrow in derby England. (Stop with the "amazing, creative" fawning. They're just achingly hip for now. You lot will soon find another band to asskiss.) The sounds they make are promising, be interested to see if they can cut it live
it's true, there aren't a lot of appropriate examples for comparison of women artists that use their voices, so they end up being lumped in the same category with women that they sound nothing like... if guys were making the exact same sounds they'd be compared to much more fitting references.
I live in the country, but instead of staying at home and reading sometimes I watch videos on you tube and share my opinion. They don't bother me really I just think their vision is very superficial and inauthentic. Which makes sense I guess because they were interviewed by a fashion magazine.
Man I love their music, and have huge crush on Melissa. But "I've been listening to some Iraqi Pop Music." are you fcking kidding me? Hard to get more hipster pretension than that.
@LongevityBlueZones What's wrong with listening to Iraqi pop music? Why does it have to be some negative thing anytime someone mentions something that's maybe different or obscure? Like someone can't be genuinely interested and affected by something that's not common.
i agree! i am a student going into visual art and if i want to get a job (as an illustrator, none of that studio art stuff), i will either have to reinvent myself or innovate. if an artist doesn't at least have that kind of aspiration, they will probably be mediocre and dull.
it wouldn't hurt to try or to dream, even if the output isn't exactly the desired result. (artists also have to develop thick skins to deflect whatever stupid, negative, and incredibly shallow shit people say.)
i recirded at a studio once that had a cat and the song i recirded was particularly rough. we got a good mix together played and then the cat came and puffed up his chest and held atop the speakers. there's no photo or video proving this occurred... that's the kind of thing you have to live and just record to memory.
Melissa really turns me on

too cool for school, scene pretension overload, fail
knsummers 2 years ago
If you're satisfied with your thing, making your own life happen or your work or art or whatever, then I don't see how they could bother you.
If you're crying about a "scene," then just stay at home and read a book or move to the country.

yeah i like their music but its really quite pretentious to say reinvention...
rvggarcon 3 years ago
What is pretentious about saying you want to reinvent something? Whether or not one succeeds, shouldn't that be the desire of every artist?
