There are times when jealousy amongst the Quakers if rife! When that happens, none of them get attention or interaction. They soon calm down and then we try again, and all goes very well. Finn is the daugher of Twopence and Reilly, and they have all been together for a long time.
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Charlie. I have also lost birds, and it takes a long time to accept that they are gone. They are always with us in spirit though and they live on through our memories.
Losing birds taught me that there are some things in life that we never, ever get over. However, eventually we learn to live with the loss.
I hope that one day, when you are ready, that you will be able to open your heart and know the love of another Quaker.
@garlicandherbloaf - I still miss my Charlie everyday, but I won't get another Quaker unless it is an older bird, and they are hard to come by here. I'd never take on a baby - as cute, intelligent, talkative and snuggly and gorgeous as they are, I don't want a bird who will outlive me.
They're darling! I love Quaker Parrots. I believe they're the best of all birds when it comes to personality. They're great talkers, too. I found mine after she fell about 60 feet from her nest here in Florida...where they happen the fly wild & free. I hand fed & tamed her. She's so sweet & she thinks I'm her mamma. Check out my Quaker videos & feel free to comment & rate : )
I don't know how I ever lived without a Quaker. Living in Australia, we don't have the restrictions that some states do in the USA. Mine do talk, but moreso when they are settling for a rest. My Quakers are very expressive with sounds though, more than words.
your baby look so spolied! lol.
