  • Uhhhhh.. Golden cherry!!

    ;)

  • EGYSZERŰEN NEM TUDOK VELE BETELNI ! PEDIG NEM MA KEZDTEM!

  • why would anyone dislike this?

  • @daman2124 because not everyone likes the same music... its prolly people who have heard the john mayer version first and dont like the old sound of this one. gotta respect diffrent musical taste because thats why we have so many diffrent music now a days. :-)

  • @ RobMackenzie Oh right, I'll have to listen to that- thanks :)

  • LOVE CHUCK BERRY ..REALLY AN HONOUR TO LISTEN TO THE MAN !

  • Pure Gold.

  • I live in San Bernardino. A few streets away from route 66.

Its annoying and cluttered with signs and cars.

  • Chuck Berry is my fave cover followed by Nat King Cole and Bobby Troupe.

  • Best cover was made by Martin L Gore in depeche mode haha very fun..

  • Chuck Berry recorded the first rock version and it was this recording the Rolling Stones members had to listen to in England in the early 1960's. I like Nat King Cole, Chuck Berry and the Rolling Stones, they are all great performers.

  • Amazing the Father of Rock.

  • in my opinion the Stone's cover was better but you got to give most credit to Chuck for writing the song :)

  • @EADGBE1997 ...but Chuck didn't write this song, Bobby Troupe did & I think Nat Cole recorded it first.

  • @RobMackenzie yes nat king cole was the first to record this song... awesome version as well... pretty chill.

  • @EADGBE1997 robmackenzie is right... chuck didnt write the song, bobby troupe did. chuck was the first to make a rock cover of the song tho which made way for a bunch of other great covers as well.

  • 10 pessoas acham q rock é restart e glee

  • This is not nearly as energetic or exciting as the Stones's version, which is the best I've ever heard.

  • Route 66...

  • They should have played this on An Idiot Abroad 2... dunno why they didnt really

  • pappo version is the best of the best!. pappo is awsome!.

  • listen the version of pappo in spanish

  • i like this version better Rolling Stones stfu if u have respect for anyone give it to Chuck Berry

  • @alienhowitzer54 respect is to be given to who one wants... not who you want. and the way you go about asking for respect is not too respectful on its own.

  • @0coincidences NO , respect is acquired , not given , and it comes to who deserves it ;)

  • @0coincidences

All that said, The Rolling Stones are Romantic Junkies.

  • @alienhowitzer54 Well, maybe you should recognize that Nat King Cole did this much before John Mayer, the Rolling Stones, or Chuck Berry so maybe he deserves some of the credit for popularizing this song and giving it life. He has a great jazz version of it and you can really hear how many things all three of these artist borrowed from Nat King Cole. Personally I like all of their versions in their own way though I'm always a little partial to jazz :P

  • here's a bit of trivia that might interest a few trivial people like myself Remember "Emergency" the TV show of the 70s taking place in L.A. with EMS workers and Doctors and nurses in the Emergency room Julie London the singer was the nurse and Bobby Troup the grey haired doctor The show was forgetable in the extreme but Bobby Troup wrote "Route 66" which went on to be recorded by many from Chuck to the Rolling Stones TRUE THAT!!!

  • @elamite66 never knew bobby troup and julie london were in emergency... i barely remember the show from my childhood. that was a nice little bit of info... thanks! :)

  • @0coincidences I barely remembered it myself I was busy in my spare time playing music (on records) but my brother was a TV addict and so I saw it once in a while Funny how things work out

  • @elamite66 i was quite a bit of an addict myself but have stopped watching cable 6 years ago. altho i faintly remember my parents watching reruns of the show when i was quite young... i was born in the early 80's. a faint memory of the show is still intact but never would have thought to check it out. hehe

  • tonights show a trip down route 66 with Paul.... ustream.tv/channel/arizona-sky-radio come and join the fun! starts at 10pm UK time!

  • 10 estan pendejos an de escuchar ov7

  • <3 93 from Missoula to Eureka, MT. <3

  • Chuck's version is fantastic, the first rock version on Route 66.

  • Can you imagine 'Get your kicks on the M62'? hahaha

  • @burtowi This made me laugh So much!

  • @burtowi LOL

  • great song

  • NO STOP

  • GREAT!!!!

  • Depeche Mode do a pretty good cover as well. Well worth listening to.

  • 10 dont know how to get to route 66

  • the best one is the PAPPO version. the best argentinian rocker :)

  • I like Chuck Berry's version the best. It's just something about it, sonic- and feel-wise.

  • Love Chuck Berry but slightly prefer the Rolling Stones' version of this

  • @RuthlessRich same here... depends on my mood on which im gonna listen to... hehe

    check ours out! Pt3Z2gj6ZZY

  • @0coincidences actually, I would even prefer the Them's version with the piano solo à la Jerry Lee Lewis and the wild guitar solo

  • @RuthlessRich I like this one over the Stones'. For me, it's between Berry and Nat King Cole. :p Depends on my mood. I really like Barry's. :)

  • iloveyouuuuu! <3 <3

  • an evergreen buy soft

  • Chuck Berry is the real good man!

    Thank you for the upload!

  • i know this song from Cars

  • @Erenvil well... i guess any way is a good way to learn about good music. hehe. i've known this song, as many others, for decades before cars came out. the john mayer version for Cars aint all that bad either tho. reminds me a bit of pappos ruta 66

  • are there 2 different versions of this song?

  • @beatletemps from chuck yeah... i have both uploaded too.

  • @beatletemps and actually worldwide there are "several" diffrent versions. nat king cole, chuck berry, rolling stones and now john mayer having probly the most popular versions.

  • @0coincidences no forget "Notverto (Pappo) Napolitano"!!

  • @MeTaLiZoPo pappos ruta 66 is awesome but i was mentioning the most popular versions. pappos isnt really as popular as the others. :-)

  • @0coincidences Here in argentina everybody knows the pappo's version

  • @96Adriaan i know... the fact that he is argentinian helps. mean nation wide... he is not as popular as the others.

  • @MeTaLiZoPo deja de hacernos quedar mal y pone "don´t"

  • Chuck no es el rey del rock N' Roll, es el creador y Dios del Rock N' Roll.

  • ok thank u

  • i think this is the best version i just listened 2 nat king cole's version & it wasn't the best version ive ever heard

  • @bandued you have to appreciate nat king cole diffrently tho. hes a jazz artist. chuck was the first to do a rock cover of this song. =)

  • oh ya gotta love the classics... i hate distorsion and computerized crap!

  • cool ;-)

  • I love Chuck but, as I posted somewhere else, Johnny Johnson is absolutely KICKASS! That Cat cooked with fougasse (or, GAS). Something odd, though. At the danger of being kicked out of my group of friends (friend?) or something. I think the Stones' cover of this song is better. I pissed some white group when I sent my opinion of their cover of Sam Cooke's " Bring It On Home To Me". I didn't think any white boys could cover black tunes and do them justice. Whooda thunk?

  • @19KIMLYN72 i do prefer the stones version better as well... theres nothing that anybody from one race that another race cant do as well if they put themselves to it tho. its all relative to who's playing and whos listening really whos is better. doesnt mean the stone are better than chuck or vice versa. i prefer some chuck to some stones and vice versa as well. i dont think its up to us to say who does justice to whom.

  • 280 here i come

  • Can you imagine a young John Lennon or Keith Richards hearing something like this for the first time, living in a tiny, cold European country and wondering what it would be like to drive a big American car to exotic places like Gallup, New Mexico and Amarillo, Texas? Awesome!

  • @77hodag i can... but i can also imagine myself hearing for the first time and being blown away and thinking the same thing. try not to live through others but through yourself. john and keith are two of my fave artists but id rather think of it about myself than about them if you see my meaning and make my own history. : )

  • @77hodag i think we wrong the birth time 50 60 70 ruless !!!!

  • @pirro17 i would even go as far as saying 20's-70's ruled. i like my traditional blues, ragtime, swing and jazz kings just as much! =)

  • @77hodag tiny? lol

  • @LosLurvos :)

  • @77hodag Thats me right here in Norway. Damn, I dream of a Charger...

  • @77hodag both from england....ur making it out to be some backward 3rd world country where its sub zero 11 months out of the year.

  • @kface001 To be fair post war Britain must have been a pretty miserable place to live compared to the US. America was really booming whereas Britain was declining.

  • @77hodag Yeah except they grew up in England

  • @77hodag it still works, on all of us europeans... but I believe america has changed quite a lot since 1961 !

  • @77hodag If they lived in Europe why would they want an American car? And trust me, there are more exotic places in Europe than Gallup, Flagstaff, or Amarillo.

  • iLOVE chuck berry

  • Sweet and tasty! Johnny Johnson on the piano!

  • key to this tune is to NOT play it too fast..let the tune groove..

  • I love this version, thanks Chuck.

  • El es el verdadero Rey del Rock n' Roll!!!!

  • really? something about a 4/4 time sig. doesn't sit with you?

this is a sweet version of the song. Anyone who so much as clicks on John Mayer should be drawn & quartered.

  • @0652411 Yeah?? Well the Rolling Stones version sounds like shit compared to John Mayer's version (And I love the Stones, but this version is a lot better, lol)

  • @seonfox ouf... sorry but i would never go as far as saying that john mayer is better than any of the original greats.

  • 6 people didnt find route 66

  • As much as I love Chuck Berry (And he's my biggest influence on guitar!), there's something about the drums that irritates me to no end on this. Maybe it's the time-signature?

  • Very interesting version of this song ,a more mellow Chuck. but very musical

  • what year is this one from?:-?

  • @1508Marina he covered it in 1961.

  • Good lazy bluesy version..

  • Just where is Winona?

  • @0coincidences well said :P this an AWESOME song - bit silly thats it not on the album 'the very best of chuck berry' :( - good album - 54 tracks!

  • OLD SCHOOL =)

  • 4 people are Justin Beiber fans >=P

  • イイね♪

  • Flagstaff, Arizona . . . don't forget Winona, Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino . . .

  • Chuck Berry = Sex Machine

  • oklahoma it is pretty!!!!:D

  • Ja powiedziałabym ze lobię te szlugi, ale ok, ta nuta tez dobra :D

  • rock pure rock & roll :-)))

  • awwwssome

  • @0coincidences I think he was just stating his opinion in the comment section...people seem to do that a lot. Not every post is some big point to convey, often times it's just a quick reaction or opinion

  • he didn't "steal it" he just made a cover ,gosh.

  • great american song !

  • Nat King Cole is great, but Chuck Berry was the first one to put out a rock version on this song. Very soon the Rolling Stones also did it with a great version. I also like John Mayer and Eddie Meduza.

  • @allaboard70 don't forget Pappo man, its a very cool rock from Argenitina "ruta 66" seek for it, you'll be surprised

  • @wonkajack You are right :) Thank you very much for the tips. Go Go, on Ruta 66 !!

  • @allaboard70 im glad you like it, that pappo dude was a monster of the rock / blues from argentina

  • the true king of rock n roll:)

  • Great song , listen to Eddie Meduza- Route 66

  • you know Black people are THE ones ALWAYS plays in MAJOR role in heart of American music, Blues, Rockin' Roll, etc, etc... but White people are one make money and fame by stealing.

Elvis to me is NOT a KING of Rockn'Roll. I know he was a TALENT. (not artist, more like a circus clown).

I am not a black by the way, race has nothing to do with my comment, but only my honest observation.

  • @urkingod stfu faggot, just listen and enjoy the music.

chuck berry and jimmy hendrix were awesome. however the beatles were just as good and revolutionary as them

but seriously it isn't about your skin color it's about your skills man

  • @urkingod - unfortunately your argument about black people in music collapses if you put it on this page: Bobby Troup, who wrote and originated this song, was white. Was Chuck Berry "stealing" when he recorded it?

  • dude isnt chuck the one that added cites that werent even on route 66? haha i remeber my guitar teacher didnt like this version for something like that.

  • get your kicks on route 66!

  • Why can't he makes no song that somebody don't likes.

  • @broodjewout Why can't he no make no song that no nobody nothin' no likes?

Sorry I didn't understand myself, nor did I understand you. ;)

  • this song makes me wanna go on a killing spree lol lol ( just kidding )

  • great song

  • thanks for the post..

  • this my infulance

  • the stones version is good, chuck's version is better, king cole trio's version is the best!

  • @migoratia yep, thats an outstanding version also, all 3 on my favorites.

  • sounds great :)
