  • can someone tell me what those little ringlets are that seem to reverberate a little? Il ike the effect they have on the sound, love to know what they are. :)

  • C'est magnifique... Thank you so much for sharing :) Now I will try to get one because I like so much

  • Listening to this piece is one of the best stress relievers i know, it's so soothingly entrancing. I finally decided to retune my kalimba but can't seem to access your tuning charts anymore. Are they still available?

  • @Cobenzlgasse

I used to host images on MySpace but for some reason they decided to change URls of all my images. It caused me a real mess. I'm not going be back to that fail site - that' for sure. Anyway, tuning charts are available again.

  • @SaReGaMaTheArtist MySpace has definitely seen better better days, it seems that the entire network is slowly falling apart ! Thanks for taking time to publish those tuning charts again.

  • That is so mezzzzmmmeeeerrriiiiiiizzzziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!

17 keys & the in between ones R bent downwards???

  • @MrSupersexalicious69

Thanks for your comment. The tines are very dense so the short ones are bent upwards, otherwise they wouldn't be reachable.

  • Ah yes and is it hollow or solid?

  • Is that a home-made kalimba, or did someone else make it? Great tone and are those aluminum ringers?

  • @sikyatavo

It's a solid "Hugh Tracey African-Tuned Karimba" from Kalimbamagic com. I retuned it and replaced the original buzzers with more delicate aluminum rings.

  • @SaReGaMaTheArtist

Very nice touch and great album you have on Jamendo. Thanks alot, also for your discussion on FLAC, which I now use as the standard for lossless compressed files for archival. Peace

  • The perfect instrument for todays text dexters :-)

  • with the tuning, what's the difference between C and C1?

  • @RoxInSocks

C1 is one octave higher than C.

  • @SaReGaMaTheArtist thanks i thought so just making sure :) time to go tune my kalimba! haha

Currently this song is not available in MP3 format. You can obtain it as a FLAC for donation. All the other compositions are downloadable for free as an MP3.

  • Wonderful piece :)

Makes me dream and relax easily!

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • wow. I never thought at the kalimba as a real music instrument before this.

  • I recorded this piece after all my albums have been published already, that's the reason you can't find it on my site. I will include it in my next album.

  • I can't find this on either sites you gave..

    how come? :(

    I really want it!

  • WOW!

what type of calimba is that?

i've seen 8 note standard ones before but that's amazing! do you slide the reeds in and out to tune it?

    keep up the good work!

  • Thanks for your comment.

This is Hugh Tracey African tuned Karimba. I replaced its original buzzers with softer ones and retune it for every new composition by moving the tines, the longer the tine the lower the tone it produces.

  • this is awesome..... i want to make a beat with it! ;) thanks 4 the happy and impressing sound !

  • A brilliant piece of music!
