i would attempt the ab wheel or dragon flag 3 or four times a week i dont really use weights as such , i prefer body weight i also use thick poles to develop hand wrist and finger strength
My thoughts exactly JRT, good point. I've been doing this with my arms straightened. It will be good workout if u do abs with wheel plus medicine ball and gym ball. U don't need weights in abdominal training at all, believe me guys! Everyone keep up the good work!
That takes a lot of strength for I know first hand. My father is going to post a video soon on you tube doing his exercise wheel. My father who is the King of the ab wheeler still to this day at age 64 can still do around 70 reps all at once. I wish I was able to do that but I cant. You keep up the good work and one day it may pay off
Thank yes indeed my arms I made a second better attempt, the stress this places on the lower back goes up tenfold if the arms are completly straight but yes I am not happy with this effort!
If you've practiced kung fu for many years you have the core strength necessary to make the transition to a full roll-out with the ab well. You do it very well, btw. I didn't know that there was a version other than the one with the arms straight out.
thank you very much actually think this demo isnt as good as my second vid watch ur back and abs and make sure u warm up also u could use a wall as a guidepoint
for anyone who wants to try this but doesnt have the wheel, try using a skateboard, it almsot exactly the same :P

I think you'll find the variation of extending your arm straight over your head instead of having bent elbows a lot more challenging.

my effort is poor here im just being humble when will ur dad upload that video god bless him
Tom220678 3 years ago
He makes it look easy and I can tell you: it's not. It takes a lot of upper body strength and a strong back.
I'm just starting and it's tricky even in a kneeling position (especially if you're overweight). Great demonstration.

does this put to much pressure on ur back?
thinredline11 4 years ago
your lower back shouldnt hurt when you do this. this is an advanced technique in the video - try doing it from your knees for a less intense version
