    Customer Reviews:

"This bass just arrived yesterday and I am quite happy with it after gigging with it last night. The tone is what you would expect from the Fender logo-adorned humbuckers. Vintage! The finish is flawless, sometimes cheaper Fender models lack attention to detail but their Chinese factories have got it right with this one.I was hesitant ..."

  • What a great sounding Guitar

    Thank you

  • Oh no, the teddybear went away ;)

  • Was this the cheapest guitar ever in your arsenal? Thanks for your videos. Cheers from Malle.

  • @ManMartin

this guitar is a treasure. cheap. but sounds like any fender. it looks and sounds killer

  • awesome guitar...

  • must learn the lick at 1:53

  • the p90´s sound amazing... they hum less than the ones in the 56 LP GT, so sweet tone. This is my main axe. I love it.

  • this guitar is squier... and it´s amazing. It´s the best deal for a ridiculous prize.... you have the sweet and powerful tone of 2 decent p90´s combined with thr versatility and easy playability of a tele... it looks gorgeous too... I have 9 axes and this is my fav

  • I own 2 Indonesian Tele Customs. 1 has P90s, the other is a 2-humbucker. Both good, but I replaced the generic humbuckers with some SteMac Golden Age PAF types. The P90 version's nice out of the box. Each had 1 or 2 minor setup issues -- expected for $225. Both heavyish, too, but I play sitting down these days. Suggestion: Stringing the P90 version with the heaviest strings you can stand (I went to 11-50) resuts in a big, focused rhythm sound, either clean or breaking up a bit.

  • @diddlytube Used to own them both and I agree with everything you said. Replaced the humbuckers with a SD JB/A2pro and leave the p90s stock. I still miss them sometimes.

  • It is gorgeous, good finishes, the p90´s are duncan designed PU´s but they sound great. I have the epi 56 gold top and it hums less the squier than the epi. It is so easy to play and bend. Great guitar. For the money, you won´t find something better than this beauty.

  • I have this and it is a squier.... and yes, it´s not a fender or a gibson, but truly, it´s an amazing guitar.... If you want p90´s but you can´t afford a r6 les paul gibson for example go for this one.. Believe me, it has an amazing tone. love it. So, don´t care so mucho for the brand. It´s how you play more than what guitar you play.

  • Help people... I ordered this very guitar a few months ago, cause I didnt have an axe with p90´s. It never errived to the store so I bought the R6, which its amazing. But this week I received a call and this one finally arrived. Should I go for it? Does it´s worth or having the LP 56 its enough? Help please, somebody has prooved this one or both? As for the R6, it is marvelous

  • thanks greg for always stopping me from doing homework

  • If you look closely at the headstock, you can see that the stain was removed when it was sanded off to apply a bogus Fender decal. The only way to correct that is to take off the tuners and sand the whole head stock, then apply a logo..I made this mistake on a Jazz bass, the Korean 92 models that say Fender in large print and Squier division in small print. In attempt to restore had ahard time matching stain. My advice...leave them alone, don't be embarised by Squier...poppa

  • What to choose? this one, or a brand new VM jazzmaster?

  • Nice Rock Sounds. 80's ZZ Top.....

  • !!!!!!!!! ?

  • help please.... I have a LP Std, 2 trats, 1 tele, and a jag... But i´m obssesed lately to own a p90 axe. So my choices are: this very one fender Vs. Les Paul 1956 goldtop reissue. What do you think? If you greg could also answer, it would be awesome. You have played them both a hundred times... anyone who had played them? which one looks better? I personally love les pauls, but...

  • @hungerstriker27

    2 strats... obviously

  • I`ve got one of those, the P90`s are deadly, it`s a very nice guitar

  • hey greg i have a similar guitar but would like to replace the neck p90 with a humbucker. if i installed a low output PAF like a seymour duncan seth lover (resistance 7.2k), would it sound good with a bridge p90 pickup? thanks :)

  • P90s just don't do it for me.

  • i proudly show off my squier headstock.. ^__^

  • I regret selling mine last year. It was such a wonderful guitar.

  • These were real bargains new. I bought one for $229 and my bro liked it so well that he bought one. Fret job a little bit crude but they sound great.

  • people can say what they want about squier guitars. If you pick a decent one they are wonderful guitars

  • Comment removed

  • I bought exactly this guitar as a secondary guitar for $400 (I think) yearrrrrs ago and my bridge pickup broke after a year or so. Just using the stock neck pickup, this guitar is AMAZING I love the tone I get from it. I'd say these duncan designed p-90s are definitely superior to my $1200 Schecter Hellraiser FR in the clean. Almost nothing else will do for that beautiful bluesy tone with a snap.

  • Great song and sound!

  • ..this channel is dangerous...one could sit and listen all day long......

  • @tit4tat4dat you wouldn't have enough time...

  • Phenominally cool sounding guitar playing. I stumbled across this video and just can't get the tune out of my head .... and need to keep watching over again. Coolguitar as well!! :-)

  • cool couch

  • At this late date in life, I've decided to learn to play guitar. I want something that sounds like this guitar, so I've ordered a Squier Tele Mod Custom II and Vibro Champ XD. Hope someday to be able to play this tune. Thanks.

  • The guitar says "FENDER" the sound is excellent.

  • the guitar es really squier????

  • Great sound and video !!

  • Greg was the neck changed on this or just the decal?

  • greg... what guitar is that one on the couch... double cutaway gibson sg style... and it's still on sale?? thank..

  • @Sebast911 Gibson Johnny A?

  • just a quick question. you usually do expensive guitars? why did you do a squier demo? also, in your opinion, is this guitar good?

  • wow u changed the headstock cuz it does not say squire

  • I had this guitar once...sounded great when played clean through a Vox..

  • great tone, i'm modding a tele, i love p-90s, but i was worried about losing the twang, doesn't seem to be an issue though. keep the goods coming

  • still on sale?

  • @llss882 this one has been sold

  • @GregsGuitars how much bro ?

  • lovely tune...love the tone..im after one of these...funny how a sticker on the headstock can make a guitar feel better...ive had squier...and they are perfectly good ....i have a genuine fender and its all a lot of fuss and ego....good player sound good on anything

  • @pmay222 Agree. I traded a custom Gibson for a MIM Tele and couldn't be happier, Feels better, plays better and stays in tune forever compared to the Gibson. Maybe just bad luck with the Gibbie. I still plan to pick up a nice SG someday soon, but it will have to be the right one. Buy what plays well, forget the label. I learned the hard way.

  • these are stock squier tele custom II pickups?

  • @a55hole234 I think the bridge pu was replaced but I don't know anymore

  • @a55hole234 they ar Duncan designed

  • Hi Greg, how do you find the clean headroom on the Vibrolux?

Looking for a loud clean amp in a relatively handy package, thanks again man..

  • which sounds better? the P-90's or with the humbucker pickup?

  • @dekkanian i want this one, but the one with the humbuckers sounds like an sg a little bit

  • i love this one so much!

  • what is the chord yo are using in the first part?

  • @letterbekmen B natural

  • @GregsGuitars what kind of chords is he playing inversions?it driving me nuts

  • That's a really cool guitar. I had the one with humbuckers. I loved the neck. I wish I kept it.

  • would this guitar be good for playing classic rock?....led zeppelin, bon jovi, boston, etc.....

  • Just got the same guitar, love the sound. This artist sounds like Clapton a little bit..!

  • i should buy

    this

    squire

    nice sounds

  • Great tone for the price of this guitar - although you could probably make any guitar sound good!

  • your left hand belongs to a black guy... :L

  • Guys.... im pretty sure that it isn't ment as an insult. I think he is refering to the fact that he plays like bb king or some of the other early bluesmasters. Don't think it's racist, but just easyli misunderstandable.

  • @ACCADACCAFAN6710 Yeah well there was two reasons.. that and also his left hand is just darker then the rest of his body! :L

  • very nice

  • very nice guitar love it.

  • wats the p90 pickups wa r they

  • This isn't a Squier - it has Fender on the headstock. What is it Gregor?

  • It is a Squier with a Fender Label (modified)

  • @GregsGuitars that totally takes the value away from that guitar...

  • was wondering, is there a white pickguard? i wanna buy that guitar, but i dont like black p-guard

  • @Eurotour93

You can go to a music store and get any color pickgaurd you want pretty much.

  • i cant find it anywhere

  • @Eurotour93 you buy the pickguard seperately from the guitar, and have them install it. the guitar isn't made with a stock white pickguard

  • That tune sounds sweet with those P90's mate.

Very nice groove you got going there.

  • Great tone... It blows my mind that the Squier guitars are as good as the American made Fender, If you change out the tuners. My Squier Tele Affinity has Seymour Duncan Affinity pickups and locking machine heads and it is better than my 62 reissue strat with Lollar pickups in it.

  • @titrator i always thought squier's affinity guitars were terrible. i played a strat with horribly cut frets, oh the whole thing was a mess.

  • cool song. nice tone

  • Great sounds, cool playing.

  • i've just buy the same in fream yellow finish. An excellent guitar if you coupled it with an Fender tube amp.

  • did you order this off the net? if so there's your problem, i played one of these today for 2 hours and don't know why i didn't buy it, it was flawless, with squiers you should spend time checking them. you can get a dodgy one.

  • I have that guitar!!! I just dont know whats so good about it tho. im just 13, so dont judge :D

  • Hi Greg,

    very cool sound!

But did you remove original Squier logo from headstock?

  • Thanks, I got the guitar like this

  • good tune, nice sound

  • nice play. sounds awesome at all. this is music

  • Hello, Greg! I'm going to buy a Guitar here in Brazil. It's a worse brand's version for the '72 Tele Deluxe. It's alright, except for the Pickups, so I'm thinking about replacing them with P-94s. Do you think it'll sound ok?

  • I can't say. You have to check it...

  • Hello! P94 are in fact humbucker sized P90, they're made so you don't have to route your guitar.

  • I purchased this Tele from Gregor a few month ago. Thanks to Gregor - the guitar is as good as you told me!

The primary purpose was backup guitar and occsasionally use of the fatter P-90 tone on a Tele..

Ths Tele is unexpectedly good in sound and handlng, so I did a further enhancement and upgraded the plastic saddle with a handmade deer antler saddle.

The P-90 PUs are much more hotter than Strat/Tele PUs. I have to use the "LO" input on some amps.

    A very versatile axe ...

  • i don't know if i should buy this guitar with the P90's or with humbuckers cause i got a modeling amp and i can distort the sound. I would also like to try out P90's but i don't really know much about em. wanna share some advantages and disadvantages? thanks 8D

  • get the p90's

  • Humbuckers are good for rock, metal whatever. But I have a P90 goldtop cause i love the blues. P90s disadvantage is they hum like there's no tomorrow if your playing through a dirty channel. Humbuckers dont. Thats why the invented them. And p90s are the same a single coil cause thats all they are. You can get a Humbucker and put a pull/push knob on it and you can turn it into a single coil jsut like that. I have 2 guitars, one has p90s (goldtop). and another one is a vintage humbucker Telecaster

  • I love the p90's cause they can give you an oldshool rock n roll and blues sound. which i really dig. and if you change your mind later you can buy a seymour duncan mini humbucker. I say go with the p90

  • ok thx xD

was donna look for humbucker sized P90's xD

  • Don't even bother with the pickups, get a different amp.

  • I agree, i cant tell you how annoying it is to see people playing $4000 guitars through shitty solid state amps and then blame their bad tone on the guitar. With a good amp you can make ANY guitar sound good

  • While that is true that the junk amps make the guitars sound bad, it's not true that a good amp can always make any guitar sound good. I have plugged some junk china guitars into some Fender reissues and they still sound bad. You just have to find the right combination of a good instrument and a good amp.

  • Great stuff!

    Thoroughly enjoyed it, fantastic!

And nothin cooler than a black tele!

  • this might sound stupid, but do you sell any lefties?

  • no, I'm sorry

  • Tasteful playing. You're doing a fine job of showing off the axe and what it can do. I just ordered one. Cheap guitars can be fixed, and you're showing a damn fine reason to be happy with my purchase. I'll tweak it if I need to. Good job of really tasteful stuff. Thanks.

  • have you tested the regular squier hambuckers? what is your personal opinion about this agathis body?

    thanx

  • humbucker - I have not tried them. The body is ok!

  • thats amazing. is everything stock on the guitar?

  • I changed I pickup (to a Seymour Duncan) and the tuner

  • just proof that you don't need an expensive guitar to be a great player.

  • does the bridge pickup give a good distortion tone at all?

    - Jake

  • it is nice for Blues R&R R&B Rock but not for heavy metal I think

  • It could be for metal also if you just change the gauges of the strings. for example some heavier gauges to give it some weight and a really ballsy sound

  • but even so a passive P90 is not going to Distort as well as a Humbucker, or an active system. If you want to play metal you're better off with a Humbucker or active system

  • Yea you're right. He's better off with something like a fender strat, PRS, or Gibson Les Paul...

  • I play metal , betwen other things, and sounds fantastic. Even I play with a Class A Laney VC-30 with a Keeley modification of DS-1, and the kick I have coming from the speakers at high volume gives me some tahycardia in my heart, hahaha! It´s good enough for metal. It can blow your head and ears off very easily. Anyway, I don´t buy the "only high gain humbuckers for metal" theory.

  • I recognize that tune. That's a Laika and the Cosmonauts tune.

Hey Greg I'm a big fan not just of your guitars but your playing. Nice work.

  • I'm sorry but this title was written by me (Gregor Hilden) and the title is "Beale Street Strut". Never heard, from a band called Laika and the Cosmonauts - but send me a link - I would like to check out if there is anything similar around. Thanks, Gregor

  • Key of B right...

    What's the Cord Progression?

  • Nice groove, man. I've been listening to it a lot. GREAT tone. Nice axe, too. Thanks. And thank you for all your clips -- you've got some serious chops.

  • Hi about this Beale Str. Strut - witch chords do you use +5/-5? - nice playing nice mood?

  • B - E - B - E

    E

    G - A

    B - E - B - E

  • Ca c'est de la musique en + avec une super guitare ! Bravo

  • Squire right?

Has the head stock decal been replaced with a fender one?

Or is it a fender neck?

Just wondering cause I I've been considering buying one.

  • ye, decal has been replaced

  • Nice!...i got the same guitar. Very cheap..i mean, it was the cheapest guitar at the store when i bought it...i was actually at the store to buy a fuzz pedal...200$ to spent! It is probably the greatest guitar money can buy!

  • Nice tone man. Have you ever of heard of Barry Levenson, the guitarist who plays in Canned Heat? If not, look him up. His CD "Heart to Hand" is simply blues guitar at its finest.

  • Beale Street Strut isn't an original, the Memphis Horns recorded it decades ago.

  • This "Beale Str. Strut" is an original. Could be the Memphis Horns made a song with the same title ? Have not heard it but could NOT be the same music and theme

  • 10/46 ?

  • 11/49

  • OMFG SAME GUITAR AS MINE EXACTLY THE SAME !!! Nice

  • Hey, I have that same cheap axe & I love it! Who really gives a shite what brand it is... some of the best played with cheaply made guitars. The song is nice... a tribute to ´Green Onions?

  • Squier????

  • WANNA SELL THAT GEETAR?!

  • It's very true, as they say, you've to play all the guitars you find no matter the cheap or the high price.

I'm playin' a Fender Classic Baja with '54 pickups, Sperzel heads in a Blues Junior and despite the low price the couple has a nice tone.

I've tested the new Fender Lite Ash special edition and i think i'll put Lollar's Blackface in the one i'll get.

Your style is very nice and your collection fantastic.

    Season greetings from Italy.

  • Is it really a stock cheap Fender Squire (bridge pu aside)?

    I'm impressed.

  • The guitar is stock but the bridge PU has been changed for a better one (Seymour Duncan I think) and the tuners are changed to vintage style

  • can u get srv tones on your p-90s? i'm talking about like testify or texas flood here

  • I don't think so...

  • k you've just saved me a fair bit of money and have prolonged my procastination, thank you

  • THANK YOU FOR SUCH A INTIMATE LOOK AT YOUR PLAYING AND GUITARS! dO YOU GIVE LESSONS?

  • Sorry, unfortunally I have no time to give lessons

  • Are there more than one model of OKKO"S? Are you using delay or echo? Thank youfor your time and sweet playing.

  • this is an very early one with a different box, no delay on this one

  • Great playin! Great tone! Whats the orange stomp box?

  • it is the Okko Diablo Overdrive

  • my guitar :)

  • Amazing groove ! But I prefer Telly with original Fender pick ups .

  • I have the same guitar,its great.Very fine tune/playing,sir.

  • Hello nice playing. Is your Squier Custom II stock with the Duncan Disigned P90's?

  • The bridge pickup has been changed for a better one, a custom mage handwound P-90. The neck Pu was great when I got the guitar - so this one is still stock

  • Thanks for the reply and your tone is sweet. I hope to find my tone before I get to old. lol

  • Heavenly Gregor!

    Gruss vom Klaus
