@jpkcoffvevo butterfree is dead mate. butterfrees die when laying their eggs just like they do in real life though the english always censor things involving death for kids so the part that explains a dying butterfree was deleted when translated from japanese to english. butterfree is now a haunter who he gets 2 episodes later as pokemon become a ghastly, haunter and genghar after they die.

Guys, i can finally confirmed this:

Japanese Version: In the real life, when mating is complete, male usually dies by female eating him and i aslo discovered there was a mistake in japanese version unknown episode (it can be any episode after ep021 or Bye-Bye Butterfree) saying that butterfree dies and that is not true and butterfree will not be stoped in appearing in the future.

English Version: Butterfree will be back, but where is the babies?

@MrMarpinjo the only slim hope that he might return is that pokemon is not as "dark" as it started off. it used to be pokemon died the same way animals would in real life but now even the japanese decided not to keep enforcing that it was not a mistaken translation on their part but censoring. pokemon originally was intended for people in the age groups of 12-25 but as the fad died off they targeted it to younger kids who might not appreciate such a scenario so as a result they edit.

Guys, i have to say the bad news. The Ash Pokedex Dexter in one episode of original series, but in japanese version, confirmed that ash butterfree died after mating for unknown reason and fans were really shocked bealiving that ash butterfree will never be seen again and pink butterfree status is unknown. Im really shocked too, but i believe it will be seen in english version of Pokemon Anime because that scene was never seen in english version. Proof: Check PokeCommunity Archive.
