  • good guy, good rifle.

  • Picked up a 1916 SHtLE mk 3 yesterday and took it out today and was very impressed with it! Works like it was brand new! First time I have fired and owned one of these beasts and I garantee there will be more to come!!! Hooked!!

  • I like your videos especially this one... However the way your sitting really freaks me out

  • theres that super smooth action i like got one myself cut the foregrip down tho use it on the scrub pigs

  • wow $80! I just bought a 1917 I paid 340 and the stock was cracked and missing some parts. What a deal trying to restore it right now. Love the rifle

  • the echo sounds interesting

  • Is a lee enfield a American weapon

  • @blackops4lifeMW3 No..... I'm sorry, but the Lee enfield in all it's marks is a british design, replaced the Lee-Metford as the British and commonwealth general service rifle, the springfield however was the American bolt action rifle of the first world war and second. If you wish to learn more simply make a search in Google.

  • @wulfriktheviking Ohh ok thanks for the help

  • @blackops4lifeMW3

    it's a brit rifle used in WW1 and WW2

  • $80? DEAL

  • Were did you get it?

  • Nice piece.

  • I WANT IT.

  • I have no interest in guns, don't live in a country where I can get one, and would probably blow my toes off if I had one,

But that rifle is a thing of beauty.

  • great video. ive watched it many time and i think of it when i shoot my lee enfield here in the states. hope the shoulder is feeling better these days.

    shoot on!

    shoot on!

  • Favourite rifle ever, love mine, unfortunately can't shoot it due to our homo laws.

  • just a normal everyday bolt action license :)

  • This rifle is the love of my life. I have one myself and she shoots like a dream.

  • @Thor599 try shooting a c7 or a c8..it will blows u away

  • I would love to have a Lee Enfield rifle. They can be quite cheap here in the UK but I have seen them for around £300-500+.

  • omfg i want one stupid gun laws makes it near impossible

  • @D4nman

It's not impossible in Australia by any stretch mate, you just have to do the paperwork and be patient :-)

  • @malleerider what license do you need for bolt action ww1 and 2 weapons?

  • @D4nman Just apply for a Category B licence, you can get one for target shooting, hunting, or club use. As long as you are over 18 and have a clean record you shouldn't have too much trouble, just a few hoops to jump through, a training course to do and a bit of waiting.....

  • Is it possible to fit a modern removable sniper scope on the Lee-Enfield?

  • Great British rifle.

  • Yoga fan there, Mate?

  • Hey is that 80 USD, or Ausie dollars?

  • Lee Enfield SMLE... *sigh* A thing of Beauty...

  • fuck fuckitty fuck fuck fuck

  • Some of the police forces in rural India still have these guns as their primary firearm. I am from India, and I have used one of these. They are fucking amazing.

  • now that's a nice sounding rifle! love that sharp crack and then the thundering of the shockwave...so powerful

  • Wot? where di you get one of these in Melbourne??!! Is it legal in Vic.?

  • Whats the weight like with these rifles, Ive heard theyre heavy as fuck

  • @kenny01622 not really that heavy

  • @kenny01622 most of these old bolt-actions used in WWI and WWII are pretty heavy because they are made of pretty dense, solid wood. They put wood completely underneath the barrel so you don't burn yourself on the hot barrel after shooting a few clips through it. You really don't get a good perspective of what it was like to use and carry a rifle around during wartime until you actually hold a rifle like this in your hands. Very solid.

  • @DriveThruRec Bonus: Their weight made them good for hand to hand fighting.

  • @Icarusdecending82 that they did

  • @kenny01622 i shot 1 aged ten i could hold it relitively fine still can its not heavy rwally its not light but its what you'd expect from a traditional wood and stell firearm

  • $80 to make a home defense

  • @foongnerf123 a rifle hor home defence? a shotgun is probably better but for defence semi auto would be better like an ar 15 but its good for $80

  • @TheAlexagius Unfotuneatly you cannot get semi-autos for personal use in Australia because of the Port Arthur massacre, though there might still be a few SVTs etc. floating around in the backwoods of Queensland and WA.

  • @xenos60 well like in the uk the sick liberals use masacers to pursue thier political agenda, also do you mean legaly held? on the floating around? for illegals in the uk your talking ak47 and mac 10s the automatic versions

  • @TheAlexagius Just unregistered and therefore unconfiscated. There are a probably a few automatics floating around as well, but they wouldn't be as common in the UK because of our relatively small amount of organized or violent crime.

  • @xenos60 well with over 400 coming off the streets of london monlthly we may not be getting the full picture

  • now here is a man who appreciates a good rifle, ill hunt crocs with you any day mate, now lets throw another shrimp on the barbie and then go bag us some didgeridoos!!!!!!

  • @567WORMBOY123 Its a prawn a prawn not a shrimp GOD, dam foreigner (jokes) some people might not get Aussie humor.

  • Very nice. My 1918 has that little dish on the stock as well. Do you think it's possible they intended to fit them to the rifles when there was time and then after the war they just decided it wasnt really cost effective? Probably not but who knows.

The bore on mine is a bit worn out so its not a fantastic shooter but its still one of my favorite rifles. Pretty awesome deal for 80 bucks! I traded an sks for mine.

  • haha 80$ man i wish i could go back 4 years now those things have tripled in price

  • $80?!?! wanna buy one and ship it my way if I re imburse u?

  • theres something lovely about that rifle.. very classic and powerful!

In Australia are you allowed to go out into the plains and shoot?

  • how bad is the kick

  • great weapon during ww1 I'd definitely ditch my Springfield 4 the lee enfield. But in ww2 I'd prefer the garand altho its 2 rounds short, I can deliver more rounds down range thats if I dont spray and pray like most americans did

  • You've got to work to eliminate that flinch. Your face shrivels up big time before the firing pin hits.

  • i could get 1 for 10 bucks with beyonete at a gun shop near me

  • @MegaTrailerparkboys i really hope your just kidding! if not please please please call them and have them hold it for you! these cost upwards of 300 here in canada :(

  • I have a 1903 s.h.t.l.e 1*** in excellent condition, great gun, from what I've been able to find out from all the markings and the great shape its in supposedly its worth around 1,800

  • That Rifles A Sexy Motherfucker

  • How on earth did you get that for $80. I wish I could find one that cheap. Thats my dream rifle and hopefully next on my list

  • The Lee-Enfield takes its name from the designer of the rifle's bolt system—James Paris Lee, and the factory in which it was designed—the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield.

    I totally live in Enfield!!

  • This rifle with bayonet is heavy I was fireing it and I got a dead arm in the ranges and droped it lol

  • That's such a sexy gun sound

  • 0:51

    "$80"

all my dreams just came true

  • @KarlFrederick19

Might be aprox. 104USD if those are 80AUD. You can hear this mate is Austreeeelian. 8)

  • @KarlFrederick19 :D i know

  • @KarlFrederick19 I got 7 for free from my dads work friend :D

  • Damn this is illegal for me......

  • Love that noise <3 Greetings from Townsville, north QLD

  • My favourite rifle of all time, a pleasure to shoot.

  • 10 rounds of pakistani lol SHOOTING PAKI lol

  • @jamscon13 HAHA, I'm Packin'Paki

  • "You can't really see what I'm shooting at so I could be making it all up...but I'm not."

Plus, he has the gun. Who the fuck is gonna argue?

  • whats the recoil like on the enfield?

  • @3023301 manageable. The .303 is a pretty big round in comparison to more modern rounds, but you don't have to worry about muzzle rise. You get used to it after a while. The video isn't a great demonstration of the recoil as it's impossible to brace yourself in that position.

Hope I was of some use :)

  • @3023301 Like any high-powered rifle, it kicks hard the first time you fire but you get used to the recoil pretty quick with a Lee-Enfield. Its a great gun to shoot and has an easy bolt operation. The weight of the rifle does help to reduce the felt recoil. I find it quite a comfortable rifle to shoot, the kick isnt too low or too high, I think its just right considering its a .303, but thats just my opinion.

  • Honestly, never met an Australian I didn't like.

  • Jesus, these guns sound so unusual, but it's beautiful

  • when you load it do you put in one round at a time or is it on a clip sort of thing?

  • *shoots* ohhhh

    *shoots again* OHHHHH

    *shoots again* OH MY GOD

    EARGASM

  • @Dragunov1185 lmao you just made my day :P

    cheers

  • You should have been stereotypical and said "Gorgeous!" instead of beautiful. LOLOL

  • Can't go wrong with a Lee Enfield. Smoothest bolt around!

  • Beautiful noise

  • Thanks, I will have to try it again then. The new/ non surplus ammo is a little difficult to work with. The old British surplus works great. Any suggestions on what site i can get the surplus?

By the way, I do enjoy your lectures. You should teach.

  • Hi Jollygreen: Can you show me a video of how you reload the stripper clips properly. I have surplus ammo in stripper clips but I would like to learn how just the same.

    thanks

  • @blackbeard456 you just slide the rounds in thats it, thats the way i do and have always done it, ive never been told of a special way to but it works fine to me

  • What type of round does it take?

  • how are the gun laws in Australia would u say it is fairly difficult to purchase a gun or relatively easy because were i live in California it has a background check and long waiting period before you can buy it and stipulations on how many guns you can own

  • Why are you sitting like that lol

  • @kush997 cause he stuffed his sholder.. as he said?.

  • @kush997 Hahah seriously, ow

  • @kush997 lmao

  • @kush997

He says at 1:05 hes sitting up because he hurt his shoulder.

  • what part of this video makes you laugh you must litteraly have no life but a very nice rifle i have a decommissioned version

  • Every time he pulls that bold, chills run down my back.

  • @GrayFoxGrayFox you mean bolt

  • @kush997 ofc :3

  • That Arabic writing is not Arabic, it is Thai as it was made for the Royal Thai Army, called Wildtiger. So you have a limited edition gun, not sure if that makes it expensive or anything.

  • good god. The sound of the shot itself and the bolt, made me giggle like a child

  • @ThomasAndSadler jes thats called a lee enfield smle (scoped)

  • @tequila1333 SMLE stands for short magazine lee enfield, nothing to do with a scope.

  • @ThomasAndSadler uhh yes you probably could.

  • @ThomasAndSadler Of course!

  • the blast from that lee enfield proves it's a fucking british legend nice vid mate

  • hey, im in cadets and I'll be shooting this on sunday, im 14, do u have any tips for me to control the recoil, cheers

  • @chipmunkkiller

I can't say for sure but if cadets in Australia is anything like it is here in Canada (and Britain) the Lee-Enfield will likley be re-chambered to .22 caliber so if this is indeed the case recoil shouldn't be much trouble.

  • @Number7smokesForEver nahh its the .303 rounds, I've shot 22. rounds b4 there fun for targets.

  • @chipmunkkiller

Really? Your lucky then. I was disappointed when our officers handed us a bowl of .22 rounds. They turned a great rifle into a useless bow and arrow.

  • Nearly every aussie farm had a .303 after the war ended. They were cheap and lasted forever, designed to withstand the abuse of war. They're family heirlooms now. Dad used one when he was doing has "Nasho", I think his shoulder is still a bit tender from it..

  • My dad has one the same, its an original made and had never had a round through it...ever!

  • great videos bud, great rifles would love to hear a few of them firing!!

  • 80 what?!?!?!?!?

    Australia,I'm coming!!!

  • how do u put a bayonet on that

  • @beaniebrothers1 round lug at the front, just under the barrel, and a slotted lug a few inches down the body of the rifle

  • @MrRWJP thanks

  • jeez that gun sounds SO sexy.

  • mate that guns a beauty, i might get one soon and go up to a friends farm and go for some roo's or goats

  • Makes me sad when i watch a video set in Australia, I used to date a girl online from Umina Beach, Sydney. I still wanna be with her, when i watch videos like this, i wish i was standing there with nothing and just walking and walking until i get where i need to be, SO sad :(... I liked your video though, thanks.

  • @Stevoid1990

Jesus christ, this is a hotline bro.

  • @GunNut1993

its because Australia is part of the common wealth and manufactured the rifles and equipment under licence. you can see this in ww2 pics British and Australian equipment is almost identical.

  • 11 people are nazis that got shot in ww1

  • @warhead234 in ww1 there where no nazi's idiot

  • @nowp1 i figured that out i get mixed up between lee enfields

    chill out

  • He takes CrissCRoss Apple sauce literally?

  • @imaddictedtowow112

It is the most comfortable way to sit

  • must be wonderfull living there

  • $80?!?!?!?!?!??! You lucky bugger! lol

Wish we could have these type of fire arms back here in the UK, really love WW2 weapons.

  • @Sonnypjim09 thats a ww1 gun not ww2

  • @airsoft502 I know. lol

I should of put between 1700-1960.

But To be honest, I'm a huge follower of the armed forces, especially our own.

  • @airsoft502

Its service life stretched from around the 1st world war and throughout the 2nd

  • @Sonnypjim09

There's nothing to stop you owning a Lee-Enfield in the UK, unless you're a drunk, a criminal or a nutcase. Join a gun club, go to your local police station, pick up a FAC application form, fill it out, and see what happens. Stop giving Yanks the idea that you can't own *any* gun in the UK, they believe enough of that shit already.

  • @Sonnypjim09

They're still perfectly legal here in the UK provided you can prove you have good reason to own-like being a member of a rifle range.Britain is not the anti-gun country some asume it is.

  • @vegas2004 I was shooting a good few years back with .45, 9mm and 2.2, did not know you could acquire any fire arms as such. As you say, depends on the person.

Lucky, so many here who should never be allowed out, never mind a gun. lol

  • friendly tip, lean forward a little bit, maybe your sitting in a way i just cant see, but if not, back problems from leaning back are a bitch

  • the british know their rifles

  • the lee enfield was such a good rifle, that shot so many bullets in a minute, that there have been reports of ww1 where repelled german soldiers reported they encountered machine guns, while it was just a platoon of english riflemen. thats how hard the 303 rocks

  • @SatoTM2 Its not so much the rifle but the soldiers training. Have you heared of the mad minute a soldier would have to fire 30 rounds in 60 seconds making 2 reloads! I tried it once with my Lee Enfield Mk 2 I could only get 20 though.

  • PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Learn the difference between these three: There, their, they're.

  • look at the way he is sitting!!!! hahaha

  • To hell with the Remington 700, this should be America's sniper rifle.

  • If a buddha ever had a gun this is how he will shoot it

  • i own a tar-21 and a f2000 best weapons of ww1

  • @Triperiokstas Fail troll. Dumbass.

  • @Triperiokstas

  • @Triperiokstas Your talking shit those weapons wernt around till late 19th century I believe.

  • @Triperiokstas

fuck me sideways with a barge poll are you joking ww1?

  • @bazzamog Please Sir/Ma'am don't cuss.
