@orphan567 It's supposed to be a "redecilla" a kind of hairnet or snood typical of the 18th century spanish peasants. Take a look at this painting of Goya

Ooh! I've seen this Don Bartolo in a rendition of The Barber of Seville, and I've seen this Suzanne in another version of the Marriage of Figaro! And I've seen this Figaro as Don Giovanni too!
It's "Susanna" and she is Alison Hagley. The other version is also from Glyndbourne and features Renee Fleming as the Countess and Gerald Finley as Figaro.
this whole scene is the best and oh SO hilarouse, i laugh all the way thru(specially from 00:00 to 02:40). Bryn Terfel (Figaro) is my favorite of all the Figaros =)
at 4:18 , 5:29 , and 5:47 (he was moving and he stopped when he had to sing)
It's not a good position for an opera singer ( I know it's very difficult to have a natural attitude but look at Rodney Gilfry, he has a perfect attitude)
CD: The Monteverdi Choir. The English Baroque Soloists - Wolfgang Amadeus.Mozart.Le Nozze di Figaro [P]1994 Figaro........Bryn Terfel Susanna.......Alison Hagley Il Conte di Almaviva....Rodney Gilfry La Contessa.....Hillevi Martinpelto di Almaviva Cherubino.......Pamela Helen Stephen Marcellina......Susan McCulloch Bartolo.........Carlos FeLLer Basilio/Don Curzio....Francis Egerton Antonio........Julian Clarkson Barbarina......Constanze Backes
Why does Figaro say it's a list of the alehouses? Is he saying it's the gardener's or something?

Bryn, how young you look. Choochy face!
This 2nd Act Finale must be the greatest operatic music ever composed.

Oooh! I just noticed that I've seen the Countess in yet -another- version of Don Giovanni, as Donna Anna!

If you mean the "letter" it is supposed to be Cherubino's appointment to the army.
