I live in KOREA. I have this one, 607 2.7 HDI. The torque is very impresive, 44.9 kgf·m. It assure you of a fantastic driving. The harmony of engine and transmission is good. Frankly speaking, I LOVE the appererance of the 607, the tale lamp and C pillar and trunk line is awesome. The back line is beautiful. hahaha. I really love this car. Simply, It's ART.
One of the most beautifully designed sedans ever made. Despite that the long-term quality is more german than japanese, I still love the looks ever morning...
I agree that the 607 is crap electrically and therefore reliability-wise. I've had every problem from corroded wiring, failure of 2 window lift motors, trip computer, CPU, alarm, electric vent adjustment, air con, CD autochanger, anti-lock and other sensors and mechanical problems inc failure of turbocharger (1200GBP for a new one), fuel & water pumps, boot and door locks. Same problems with 605 SV3.0 and Talbot Tagora SX. They just look damned good.
What I like about owning one of these is that they're so uncommon that you're never stuck behind another one or have one behind you in the traffic. Bearing in mind it was introduced in 2000 it still looks really beautiful and started the shape that BMW and Mercedes later copied for their current models.
Oh no no no, I own one, 3.0 and I think it's one of the worst cars I've ever had. It gives constant computer problems and mechanical problems, my computer has already been replaced and it has to be again, and the radiator also, after the sent the wrong one from France, and where I am, it's a problem getting spare parts.

that's some sensor's fault, not the computer.
