Personally I believe that religion is simply a manifestation of mans inability to accept death. All religions I have heard about features an "afterlife" in one form or another like Heaven/hell, Valhalla, Field of Reeds e.t.c. And also reincarnation featured in Hinduism, Jainism and Islam. All of this boils down to one thing: Eternal existence. Man has, and will always, fear death and therefore will attempt to elude it. I dont believe in afterlifes..after all every good book has to have an ending

I've got to disagree with you on the different types of governments statement. While Communism and Fascism function very similarly in practice, they are both inferior to a Constitutional Democratic Republic with regards to their reliably serving the interests of the general citizenry.

As for Dems vs GOP they are very different kinds of shitty, but you are right in that they are both ineffective at serving the needs of their constituencies.

The comparison to governments at the end I don't think works so well. There is a real difference between types of governments. Government policy can promote education, health, and prosperity, or it can promote ignorance, disease, and poverty. Government and its effects are real.

I agree with everything you said except for "this kind of government vs that kind of government" I think that there are some forms of government are quite clearly superior to other kinds. Take the aristocratic theocracies of Iran or Saudi Arabia for example, or the fascist military dictatorship of Spain's 20th century...Its not about religion, on why they're bad, its about the level of repression and control of its citizenry. The freer we are, the more the government works for us, the better
