how long did you do the flat twist on your hair before it was long enough to out in a ponytail (example) and how did the jane carter products do with your hair?
I've been trying to find new hairstyles for my hair and I've been trying the twist outs, but the front of my hair just won't do right. I first used Curling Custard and a cheap hair gel, then I used just gel. The back turned out great, but the front was really loose. What do you suggest?
i love this! ive been trying to find a cute natural hair style and ur hair is EXACTLY the same as mine [[ texture and length ]] im def gona try this the next time i was my hair
im so happy you showed this technique...ive been tryna do a regular twist out but my hair aint long enough..i will definetly try this and it looks so easy...thanks girl ...keep up the good work and god bless!!!
@SarahBarah06 I was saying I already applied her (Jane Carter) water based leave in conditioner and castor oil in my scalp. (I edited it out b/c vid was very long and I showed how I sprayed her leave in onto my hair again later in the video.) I used to do this to reabuild my balding edges and it works wonderfully.
i just subscribed to ur channel and ur styles are very nice. ive been natural for almost a year now and i did my first twist out this evening. i have a problem with the twists getting really puffy and becoming very loose in the middle of the twist. can u please give me some tips on how i can avoid this and not look crazy in the morning? thanks!
Thank you for the tutorial, very nice. If you put a white drape in place of the brown curtain in the background, and then a light above you directed at your hair it will give detail (and shine) to your hair. Also if you are every out our way, look us up and we include you in a photo shoot so you don't have to hold the camera.
OMG finally someone with actual natural african hair all these other girls claim its natural but they actually got a perm and trying to lie and say its natural....that is natural hair for real
@feliceluvzya1 its ok...I don't get offended that easy...lol. my edges were very damaged at that stage due to micros and weaves. I massaged that area of my hair with castor oil regularly to grow that hair back. Check my more recent vids to see the progress.
thanks for sharing this video! I've natural for 2yrs but I always wore weaves. I decided to leave the weave out and wear my natural hair. I love all the styles you demonstrate! Do you still use those products you used in this video
I love this! I am new to natural hair (six months with no relaxing) and am always looking for new styles. Your texture and length is similar to mine so this is really helpful. Great video!
Hey lady, love your videos, I have natural hair but as you know all natural hair have different texture, feel and curls. I ain't half breed (if u know what i mean :), so i got a str8 afro. However my hair tents to knot, like u know when u going to tie something and u go over and under, yea girl just like that. I pray u know what I mean, does your hair get like that? and if so how do u get rid of it?
Wow--I just ran into your tutorials and now I am re-energized to make this natural journey a success. It's been a rough year--if it's not my mom telling to perm my hair amongs a host of other do this, do that like the Haitian mother that she is then it's my little sis telling to start locking. I love this cornrow/flat twist techniques for the twist out--had never thought of it!
ur hair is sooo nice. how long did it take 2 get curly like dat??? do u have 2 use the miss jane's carter w.e.?? cuz i dnt have it n i dnt know if i can buy it or where??
thanks for this video. I am almost 100% natural and have no hair skills. Scary! I've wondered if it was possible to do flat twists with natural hair and now I see that I can. Not only is it possible, but you've shown me how. Thank you, thank you!
when u live it in for a week do u have to do anything extra? or do u just use a hair scarf and it comes out fine in the more because i sleep on the side or in up on my back and my hair will end up flat on whatever side i slept on and it's annoying so i have to twist my hair every single night or one side will be kind of flat
omg thanks so much for posting this! I always thought this only worked on long hair so I was doing bantu knots every night and taking them down every day which took foooorrrreeeevvvveeerrr!!! I am going to have to try this! Your hair is beautiful! I am about 9 months natural so since you said you were 8 months then I'm sure this will def work for me!
Thank you for this video this is very helpful. I'm gonna try to do this hair style tomorrow. I've been rocking natural hair since Jan 2010 but I have no idea what to do with at this length. I just pick it out and push it back with a headband sometimes. I've been dying to learn how to do this thanks
I was just about to give up on my natural hair. As a bit of a Diva, I was not feeling the boring fro. Thanks for your video, it was precise and I feel comfortable trying this on myself. Great job and style... Thank you again!

I have really kinky hair and grew up with a Sister who had soft curly hair. I'm sooo afaird of going natural but I love your video and it gives me hope. Thanks for the post!
is there a simpler way to do it?{: im watching closely and i just tried it on my little sister but i just cant do it! lol. is it just: take 2 strands and braid like reg. pigtails but back and then add in a 3rd strand each time? thts what i tried but it just came right out and it didn't look right :P help?(:
Great great job gurl, I am so not a hair person but i'm going natural and its just a little shorter than yours. I would definitely be showing my sis this video so that she could hook me up with some flat twist outs.
I was just about you ask you how you twist out or twist your hair when its so short!! LOL and there is no need to even ask you have answered that for me with this video!! It looks so nice :)
