one thing you guys dont think about.not every one wants a stick.besides because its a stick dont make it better or faster.tell me what is it that you can do to a stick that you cant do to a 5at.
Did you run the automatic with triptonic shifting or just let the car handle it? I just got an 05 g35. Trying to set expectations before i head for the track.
put it in drive right before redline and itll make a shift into 2nd to you just fine. vq35 lags a bit when in shiftronic so if you wait to exact redline to upshift it'll redline and over rev and you'll miss 2nd because the car will just become unresponsive until it reaches pre redline again so if upshifting manually to 2nd time it perfectly between the lag, upshift, and redline. and yes, keep the gas to the floor, don't lift unless you miss your shift and go past redline
nope not at all. D is faster and more efficient through gear changes from 2-5. manual override is there only as a driver convenience and for high rev launches from first gear.
I like the term "craft disease" next time I buy a car with a manual tranny, it would have to be one with the parking brake control in the most obvious spot possible. :D
I love my manual drive g35 sometimes its a hassle but its way worth it

traction control OFF and leave it in drive.
when i put it in tiptronic it lags inbetween gears and actually hurt my 1/4 times
nightm4re89 3 years ago
vdc off, use shiftronic for your launch and 1st gear shift then plop it into drive and itll shift up perfectly each time at redline

At what RPM do pop it into drive? Do we do it as the car accelerate while our foot is thru to the floor?

@wixch ya it happened to me a couple times and i lost the race, so after you leave it on drive, you dont loose horsepower cuz its on D?thanks
