Bill Hicks was a great (in my opinion) comedian who was a dear friend of the band. He passed away some time ago, and Tool has honored him with an entire album, ænima. The song, ænima has the line "Learn to swim, see you down in Arizona Bay", it refers to Bill Hick's bit about how California was going to break off from the US and float around Arizona, then America would be rid of one big nuisance.
