In 1974 I used to go to a club in Akron, OH called The American. (This was part of the whole bicentennial thing.) Disco was brand new and the songs that existed didn't have extended mixes yet. Club DJs were looking for other music to play and this was one of the songs that was played. And "young people" danced to it!
