I am not a surfer but a little research says that the surfer's name is Mike Parsons, he's a professional sponsored by Billabong. This was filmed at 'Jaws'. He has ridden a bigger wave in Cortez bank, measured at over 65 ft. He holds the 'official' record for biggest wave ever surfed at 70+ feet in 2008. Unofficially the biggest wave ever surfed was supposedly over 80 ft in 1998 by Ken Bradshaw. Please stop all the stupid fighting...thank you.
