@9Dane3 Couldn't have said it any better myself, I personally use a Zune HD and it's very good, but yes, cowon still beats it on the sound portion, with customizable equalizers and what not, all you have are 5 presets on the Zune. And yeah I think it's ridiculous how popular the ipod is, I was just making a point that it does excel in gaming, but other than that, nothing, and it's not worth the price at ALL.

After using this device, the pitiful attempts of keeping up with your finger that the Cowon above shows is dire - you flick and the machine later responds, this to me would be unbearable. hmmm that's the thing, both Sony and Cowon are way way above all the other companies out there (especially apple, although Creative have pretty good sound quality). But between Cowon and Sony there appears to be very little difference, either will do you well in terms of sound quality, but it's overall quality of production that the Sony will of course be the winner of. yea i agree, the sound quality of the touch is below average but overall its really worth it simply because of the apps.
i like the sound quality of the cowon, the only thing i dont like about it is the interface, and it takes a lot of my rating space thats why i prefer the x series. i dont really want to use the net trough the small devices, i prefer using the usual computer. so the sucky web browser of the sony wont affect my mind.
check out my review of the sony x series, no UI has the response to touch as well as the sony screen on this device, and the sound quality is almost as good as Cowon (much better than apple of course!)
whats the best program used to sync this device with album artwork and all that? also how do u quickly lock the screen? i dont want buttons pushed when i walk.
if you have itunes if you press advanced there is an option to convert to mp3 file. i got a samsung p3 and it works fine but takes forever to convert because its one at a time and it doubles the music
despite all the fancy specs and applications available these days after awhile it just comes down to sound quality. in that sense I think S9 is a very attractive competition.
@st33l3rsfan86 in fact, the iPod touch DOES have Bluetooth with the correct firmware update. Must admit I'm not 100% what you can do with it, I think it's functionality has been limited by Apple. But regardless, you sound pretty stupid right now considering it does have Bluetooth.

I was originally planning on getting the P3 since I currently own and enjoy the P2, but I heard that Cowon has better sound quality in their players. Is this true? I loved the P2 because of the DNSe but if the S9 has better sound quality then I'll buy it. because the whole OS is made in flash allready, and you could use flash apps and run flash video and animations, would be stupid NOT to include it I would say.. ^ ^ not that I can name a single flash app though

The PSP already had a Wireless-G radio built into it, the S9 does not. Unfortunately, a firmware update will be unable to rectify this particular shortcoming of the S9.

I have the Ipod touch 2nd gen the Cowon Q5W and the Cowon S9 and they are all amazing but sadly enough I have to say that I use the Ipod Touch a lot more.
But even the Ipod has its major drawbacks.
I use the Ipod touch for all my internet usage,running games and music.
Q5W for my on the go Photography and when I Travel with the use of the GPS cradle.
S9 for for all kinds of music files and some movies.
All three are just amazing, either way you will love your toys.
Touch simply because i found that i wouldnt use the wifi a lot (especially since ill use whatever i buy in the bus or subway, places where there is no wifi)
also if i am givin a choices of many cool apps, ill be distracted from the music and videos on the actual touch, and ill probably have to delete a lot to make space for the games and apps.
but dont get me wrong, the touch is an excellent device, but its not geared towards me, just more to the casual people, who dont travel a lot (which is another reason the touch is no good, if i play with the games and apps, the battery will drain, also not to mention the S9's GREAT battery life).
but many of my friends have the touch and they are very happy with it

Cover flow is useless, but on this its just a complete joke. Whoever decided to release the player with that feature in the state its in must have been insane.

Get the S9 you wont regret it. Probably the biggest difference you'll notice is the sound quality which iPods seriously lack. Cowon makes the best sounding mp3 players out their. Since this one is flash based, all you have to do is drag and drop the music. It may be different for videos, but I dunno. I have an older Cowon iAudio 7 with 4gb. Not great for videos but for music its fantastic. Trust me, the sound quality of Cowon mp3 players will blow you away! Newegg,com has one for $220, with 16gb
yeah, S9 is quite nice in sound quality. it supports ogg/flac/wav/mp3. Another mp3p has suppored ogg/flac/aac/mp3/wma pretty long ago . It's p3 released lately. P3 and cowon is similar sound quality. but P3 supports DNSe3.0. so if you're in rock mode, you could feel this sound.
I what format did you upload this HD video to youtube? It's the only HD video I found here that plays without hickups. I tried exporting out of Premiere CS4 using H.264 MP4, 24fps, 1280x720, 6mbps but the video plays for like 10-15 seconds then stops, gains buffer, play and again.
Would truly appreciate if you'd tell us the spects you used.
im pretty confident that it will be much quicker after firmware updates. judging by the processor this thing has and that there has already been an update, I dont see why they wouldnt fix all the extreme choppiness of the "g sensor" ui

Hey Graham,
I what format did you upload this HD video to youtube? It's the only HD video I found here that plays without hickups. I tried exporting out of Premiere CS4 using H.264 MP4, 24fps, 1280x720, 6mbps but the video plays for like 10-15 seconds then stops, gains buffer, play and again.
Would truly appreciate if you'd tell us the spects you used.

im pretty confident that it will be much quicker after firmware updates. judging by the processor this thing has and that there has already been an update, I dont see why they wouldnt fix all the extreme choppiness of the "g sensor" ui

you should hard chop this video beacause you have alot of silence in between pointing out things about this player.
