  • so much reading, why didnt they just make a book then the plot to this game

  • 8:58 - 9:38 I feel your pain dude

  • So apparently Spoony lives in Africa. :P

  • *ahem*No food and only polluted water to drink...remind anyone of something*COUGH*FALLOUT 3*COUGH*

  • Whats the song at 9:06

  • @sephiroth8261 Samuel Barber: Adagio for Strings.

  • Y angryjoe in it

  • Okay, how many times are you going to use that stock footage of Smoke blowing up the Earth?

  • 9:30 Aha! Now I know where he lives!

  • Random, what is the sad song I hear everytime that is at 8:56? I keep thinking it's from lord of the rings...

  • @Kinkiro0013 I think that's from Platoon, actually. He's used that a couple times.

  • you're heading for his dick your going the wrong way and lol at 9:20 for the most awesome no echo ever.

  • protip: you recorded the password on camera

  • "The password is only four characters, but how am I supposed to write this down? Uhhhhh, a bunch a' whirling circles..."

    I lol'd.

  • The overly long story in the manual makes me think whoever was writing it had no clue what they were doing.

  • CHRONO TRIGGER MUSIC!!!

  • @gamingidiot42neo its from the great rpg chrono trigger. its when you race johhny of the robo gang

  • 1:46 So Iron Man wants to take over the planet or something?

  • 8:51 to 9:40 was my reaction when I found out Encyclopedia Dramatica got shut down.

  • 8:10 what is that music from!? I've heard it before somewhere but I can't identify it! please tell me!

  • SGI at a geuss i would say it's Sega Generated Imagery.

  • @AlanSmithySculptor It actually stands for Silicon Graphics, Inc. The dinosaurs in Jurrasic Park and Donkey Kong Country for the Super NEs were made and animated using SGI computer workstations

  • Planet Botor... in the Bator system... right

This whole game looks like you're moving through an intestine...

  • Fuck pencils! Just take a picture of the password with your phone.

  • 9:25- I feel a disturbance in the force...

  • Hey whats the music at :24

  • i use to think like you guys, until i found the fun on this reviews, nothing like sarcastic humor about unlogical things about gamplay

  • hey guys, stop bitching at Spoony. He's a COMEDIC game reviewer. if you cant lighten up and enjoy the video, why did you search for it? its obvious he doesn't -seriously- review games. if he did, there'd be no humor at all! just silence as he flies through tunnels. would you HONESTLY find that entertaining? Who cares if he dies in 5 minutes? its not a fucking walkthrough, its a review!

  • 8:20 music from Chrono Trigger.

  • Fast and Furios Gameplay indeed.

  • @mattiathekaiju Just not in the way the programmers intended...

...or maybe this WAS what they were intending to unleash on the public. You don't know what goes through some developers' heads.

  • OH NO!!... you play for 5 minutes and when you die you have to start ALL OVER AGAIN!!!.. oh poor baby, awwwww :( What's the matter? you don't have any perseverance and can't save the game every 5 seconds so its easy enough for you to not tough it out and be lazy? Being truly challenged in a game is nightmare now isn't it!?

  • @blade004 It's because the story of this game has pretty much absolutely nothing to do with the game itself. I mean, the makers of the game went through all that trouble to write up all that stuff, and it really doesn't contribute anything to the enjoyment of the game itself.

And he was only complaining about the password being such needlessly complicated to write down, and there being a limited time to write down said password. It's up there with other bad password systems.

  • @blade004 This is the same attitude that pissed me off about Demon's Souls. Tedium IS NOT a challenge. Repeating five minutes of easy gameplay just to get back to a section you have trouble with isn't hard, it's just a pain in the ass. I don't play video games to prove that I can repeat mindless tasks or that I have better reflexes than a handicapped computer.

  • I got half way through the video and wanted to smack the reviewer across the back of the head. Yeah the game play is crap, but fuck mate! when the game came out, visually it was mind blowing so stop making visual comparisons in your mind about what is around today because that is exactly what you are doing. And what is all the "what's this, what's this, what's this bullshit!!??" Just play the fucking game and focus on the game play and stop complaining every 5 fucking seconds!

  • @blade004 Who the fuck would want to play this piece of shit?! It doesn't matter how good it may look, if the game sucks it sucks.

And yeah, this game does NOT look good.

  • @AxelXGabriel Click on page 2 of the comments on this video and you will what else i wrote you fuck wit.

  • What i really sad about this video is that the older we get the more cynical we get but during our youth such stories at the beginning of this video used to once spark our imaginations and made us more literate with the written word.

So here we have the chipmunk fast forward routine as if story no longer matters, that our imaginations no longer matter and then we wonder why children are more illiterate now than they were before as they go for the quick visual stimuli fix without written content

  • fuuuck i owned this game for the pc and had happily forgotten it ever existed until now.... the first 3 or so minutes of the review i thought it was a different game.

  • Wait a second spoony! You have this code all along, just use the in game footage in this review to find the password and torture yourself again!

  • (puts on Blindfold)(Space Channel 5 music plays)

  • lol he said no? oh more negative brain responses for me.

  • 0:25-1:46 Borderlands except stupider, less entertaining, and vaultless. Got it.

  • Why is a mining corporation called "cybertech?"

  • 9:00 whats the name of the song?

  • well i understnd why they cant inject you straight to the brain.jain sharp objets into ppls heads generaly kills them. but why cant you just inject through the neck. wrks in hitman.

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! booooooooooom!!!! genius!!!! lololololol!!!!!!!

  • well you had recorded footageof the password

  • all that hype and pages upon pages of plot for a simple and rather shitty rail shooter

  • He read the WHOLE STORY!? Wow...

    Poor Spoony...

  • Can anyone tell me what's the name of the song at 7:20-8:02?

  • why does the story have to begin on a different planet?

  • Did I hear some "Master Blaster" there?

  • With all this story in the manual, this would probably make a better science fiction novel than a game.

  • @lucariofan508 That may be the case, were it not for the story being awful.

  • I'm one of the few people who actually did beat this. Truth be told, I'd rather watch Innerspace. However, Rick Wakeman really did give it a fantastic soundtrack.

  • God bless Spoony for having the mental fortitude to replay these shitty games for our amusement.

  • Can you believe that rotten back-story? It's like communist propaganda written by Al Gore in the tone of B-movie melodrama. Yuck...

  • good that game is anooying

  • I'm surprised there have been no Dr. Insano references. This game horribly abuses SCIENCE.

  • "Oh shit! some micro-sub just crashed into a corporate presidents' heart valve and exploded. There is ABSOLUTELY no way we can save him. AT ALL, even though heart transplants were invented in the 20th century, and the not-so-rich, have access."

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • but, you only have 1-5 minutes to get the new heart in AND working (depending one person) before he becomes brain dead since blood is no longer oxygenating or feeding his body + brain.

  • @BudgetBachelorChow Speaking of which, it doesn't look like the doctor is even there! Did those guards kill the doctor? WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT!? Sure he was talking to those suspicious characters, but he was the guy KEEPING THE PRESIDENT ALIVE.

  • I didn't have trouble getting through levels with all three lives...

  • Gr... THE HUMAN BODY DOESNT WORK THAT WAY

  • The end of this video is literally b-e-a-utiful. Was laughing my mother fucking ass off! The music kicks in and the grainy filter comes up. The look on your face!

  • BODOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This game literally makes... me... fart.

  • O_O FART?!!?!?!!?!!?!!

  • Microcosm: a video game re-imagining (of sorts) of "Fantastic Voyage", and not a very good one!

  • you really should do more action figger wars lol.

  • all those pages for the story, just for a crappy on-rails shooter lmao

  • Reminds me of Star Fox 64, but it has two pages of story and it actually is decent story, as well as being a very fun game.

  • The glowing shoot me here lights too.

  • Pretentious, I always forgot that word.

But, yeah, it sure is, worse than that RPG I forget the name of.

  • This seems like a crappier pretentious version of Hyper Zone.

  • what's the song at 7:20?

  • 8:10 - is that song from microcosm, or from another game?

  • Er, never mind, just found out what song it was!

  • is from chrono trigger.

  • For some reason you remind me of egoraptor... from the looks o_O

  • "Brief biology lesson, the brain is up here, the femur is down here! Your heading for his dick, your going the wrong way!!!!"

    I lol'd hard.

  • Is this a manual or a Fanfiction ? XD

Anyway, Blazing Star (an Arcade game from SNK) owns this game.

Also, the best part is the ending! LMAO! XD

  • nice use of the Homeworld soundtrack at the end.

'Its gone... Tannis is burning' lol

  • What is the song that plays at 7:20

  • What is the song that plays right at 7:20??????

  • Giant Fuck Me lights?

  • What's the name of the song that plays between 01:56 and 02:54?

My only clue is that it's from an NES game.

  • yep, First level from "Blaster Master"

  • What's the song that starts at 6:10?

  • What is the name of the music before Adagio for strings?

  • The Jetbike race minigame from Chrono Trigger.

  • Thank you! I've been wondering what that tune was called.

  • The story in the manual would be more suited to an RPG than this game..

  • Or in NOTHING

  • So TRUE!!

  • XD What an assy game. Loved the ending.

  • loved the ending. :D

  • One great thing came out of "Microcosm"...these videos! Many thanks.

  • plattoon reference. lol

  • 8:57 whats the song?

  • Adagio For Strings by Samuel Barber.

  • I hate the freaking heart valve. It's the only level I haven't been able to beat. The only reason I can make it to the brain is because I have a compilation strategy book of Sega CD games. The passwords for each level are included thank goodness.

  • Heh, I remeber this game getting about 55/100 when it was new...

  • Great ending for this part. I have to say though at first I thought the ship was the crosshair.

  • I had this game forgot abot it to i saw the game play

    night trap ruled

  • EXCELLENT use of Barber.

  • I'll Samuel your Barber

  • ADAGIO MY STRINGS HARD BABY

  • rofl when you realize his brains are not in his ass

  • Of course, many YouTubers' brains are already in their asses. ;-)

  • BODOR

  • you use allegro for strings alot!

  • what was that song he played when the password vanished???

  • adagio for strings (aka the platoon theme)

  • whats this?.....whats this?! What the fuck is this??!

  • What a great review ,had me LMAO,Thanks

  • thats the best end i´ve ever seen! xD

  • SGI is clearly Stargate Infinity, which is just another series of words that means it's pure shit.

  • I think that Spoony broke my brain when he read the backstory for this game.

  • I love your use of Army of Darkness music in ur videos =) Have you ever thought about doing a review on it? the greatest movie ever made =)

  • Okay, so all you do is go through a guy's body. Can I ask: WHY NOT MAKE A GAME BASED ON THE 24 PAGES OF BACKSTORY?????

  • i never realized why people hated the sega cd,i thought the games were great...that was a few years ago.that because my friend had a sega cd when we were kids and the only games he had were lethal enforcers sonic cd and final fight,so i never played fmv games and still remember the sega cd as a good console

  • The graphics for the game actually look pretty good considering how old they are.... and that there on the Mega CD.

  • Lol so true!

  • Love the funkadelic music.

"You're heading towards his dick! YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!"

Damn, this game is fucked up

  • ugh. this game is boring. so back to Giant Dizzy Gillespie.

  • What's the name of the music that is played at the end of the video?

  • ...the FEMUR?!!...

    THAT'S a 4th grade fuck-up of the highest order.

  • "SGI graphics" - those were the days.

"Worry not gamers, there is no need for more than a single-digit Mhz CPU. Just get a CD-ROM drive, and enjoy all the awesome graphics pre-rendered by a supercomputer - all at the low, low price of interactivity. And fun." (back in 90s, workstations made by Silicon Graphics Inc pretty much cornered the market for movie CGI and "VR" systems)

Only games like DK Country or Killer Instinct, which combined CG sprites with old-skool gameplay, did turn out well.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo......

  • Bwahahahah! Awesome!

  • Brilliant! I got tears in my eyes laughing about the password-"incident".

  • Haha awesome reviews man. Got a question though, what's that song from 7:20-8:03? It sounds really familiar.

  • Comment removed

  • "His brains are not, in fact, in his ass" hahahahaha, great use of Adagio for strings!

  • And you blow earth up.. AGAIN!! I can see why tho

  • Dear god if i had to play games like that id never play a videogame again.

  • You have a real talent for reviewing. Great stuff Spoony :)

  • Ahhh, Barber. Perfect tragedy soundtrack.

  • Can a kind soul tell the name of the song from 8:56 to 9:22?

  • adagio for strings i think

  • i thot that the ship was the curser

  • 2 games this POS reminds me of:

1:there was a PS1 game with a stunning FMV intro, than the game started right where the FMV left off-looked like total crap-was a simple shooter too!

2:'Rise of the robots' wonderful graphics touted at the time-with horrid gameplay. Just pathetic...

  • Giant Pulsing Fuck Me lights XD LMFAO...now where did you come up with that? O.o XD

  • I felt your pain.

  • This reminds me of a very very very watered down and bad version of Star Fox 64, loved that game

  • No wonder he's Yahtzee's favourate...

  • I'd shit a brick if I was a favorite of an internet celebrity.

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

  • holy google maps batman!

  • Space Channel 5 music = epic. I love you.

  • Wow, I didn't know games could be this bad.

  • haha love the ending!

    haha

  • b-odor lmao B/O

  • Circle thing, cross circle, gyroscope, loop.

  • utterly superb.

  • Hah,alliteration. Noah you are my hero. Your reviews are PURE GOLD my friend.

  • SPOONY BE MY BEST FRIEND

  • What is SGI?

SGI = Silicon Graphics, a now-defunct UNIX computer company specializing in computer graphics rendering. At the time the CD was made, SGI was the last word in cutting-edge graphics technology.

At the time, "SGI graphics" would have been quite a selling point.

  • that game looks terrible.

    VS

  • Thank you for the fast-forwarding through the backstory. Seriously, that was too damn long!

  • at the end wen u see earth blow up, thats a fatality move in mk

  • Do I hear Space Channel 5 music?

  • Ahahah, brilliant...

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is it really necesary to detail the rest of the solar system, when you are flying around in some guys veings?

  • exactly.

  • 6:15-6:17

    Was that Thunderbird 3?
