  • In 2000 I was allowed in cockpit of qantas 767 in flight from Melbourne to Auckland for about half hour then three days later on flight back was again allowed in cockpit and was during time there asked if I wanted to cone back for landing which I did was straped in jump set walked through emergency percedures and had headset on so I could hear everything going on it was best experience of my life shame now can't do it

  • @nostydog You can still do it if the captain approves. However it's much more difficult than before. I made the whole flight in the cockpit two times in the last three months, coz one of my friends was the captain of the flight.

  • was that a plate of cookies at 0:13 =)

  • @GeneralofFlight uhuh it was, yummy :)

  • @GeneralofFlight They got to have something to eat xD. I take a full meal with me when i fly.

  • @nextgenMW2 Full meal only during meal times, which are short.... those are in betweens

  • @timothyngim It don't matter with me and nick, we just take meals and we just eat when we feel hungry while flying. :)

  • @GeneralofFlight its a steamed bun

  • YEP,I used to love sitting up there in the cockpit while the rest of them slept,

  • We can than the idiots who killed thousands of innocent people on 9/11 for not being allowed in the cockpit for a visit.

I used to love going up when i was a kid, only on small and medium sized Aircraft which is a shame.

  • You are so lame , ha ha !

    Just joking , no offence!

  • im kicking my self that about 3 weeks ago i did a flight back from KL to Perth and when exiting the plane the Pilots were standing there saying good bye to people and i could see the whole cockpit through the open door, now thinking i could have at least ask to say hello and see if i could have taken a photo. ah well maybe next time.

  • idiot bro,

I live in perth and im flying all the time with air asia,

they let you in the cockpit all the time. Once when we had parked in KL i had just walked in to the cockpit of the A330-300 and the captain was telling the co-pilot off as i was standing there haha i was like errrmmmm what do i do. On the way back i got to sit in the captains seat and push up the throttles :D

  • kool too bad passengers can't visit the flight deck anymore

i remember when i was young visiting the cockpit on a westjet 737-600 it was pretty cool.

  • About 12 years ago I flew at A-1 first class seat on MD-11 from NYC To Cancun, Mexico. And I spent most of the flight talking to pilots about the avionics. They had a cockpit door open and didn't mind to have a little chat with the interested passengers. Too bad it's not possible now.

  • i remember when you could always get a cockpit visit. Twat terrorists soon fucked that up

  • qantas only lets staff with a red ASIC card in the jumpseat if the plane is completely full otherwise you cant, thats on domestic im not sure if international is the same though. Great video by the way

  • yep it's any flight anywhere. Not even family are allowed in :(

  • international not even an ASIC will get you on the flight deck although the captain can elect to allow staff members to use the cabin crew crew rest at the front of economy for this purpose.

  • @pedalz1115 Consider this.... Maybe he/she is a pilot...

  • how long from joining an airline like qantas until piloting a 747 or A380?

  • many years, who would most likely start as a second officer of a 747. then have the option to go to other planes. but to fly a 747 evan as a co. your talking many years.

  • mate how did you get in to the cockpit?

  • that would be so awesome imagen being a Pilot. That's the hardest career to achieve ever.Mite aswell try n be a hollywood actor lol.

  • Not really the hardest ever- just VERY expensive

  • Just as important....there's a plate of cookies

on the console beside the co-pilot.

  • Fuck! you are all so annoying. If it isn't the know all, "no electronic devices" its, "you can't go in the cockpit". Wake up to yourselves and think about it.

  • Relax....you don't have to spaz about it the person who filmed this was someone in the relief crew or an observer so they can be in the cockpit.

  • Believe me the cockpit looks more amazing in real life! (on the ground of course) i got to sit in the captain seat and hold the yoke and thrust levers. (And have the captains hat on!!

    =]

  • Thats true since 9/11 Nobody is allowed to enter the cockpit however this guy could be related in that case mabey you are allowed in ?? anywayz Great filming :) !!!

  • actually with Qantas it was mid 2003, before then anyone with the captains permission was allowed in the flightdeck, and before 9/11 it was any passenger or crewmember :)

  • mate was this filmed recently? if so, how on earth did u get into the flight deck?

  • I agree. I think it's virtually impossible, these days.

  • any 1 can go in a\on any flight but the law says that the flightdeck door must remained shut at all times when the engines are on. you can go in but you have to stay in the whole flight.

  • That is ridiculously made up and untrue. The flight crew leave the flight deck during the flight all the time.

  • yes it is parially true the pilots are allowed 1 bathroom trip every 2 hours and the only other time it is opened if the flite is longer than 8 hours and the pilot needs to switch with a relief pilot. if u want 2 enter the cockpit the only time to do so is in the begining or the end

  • bullshit. I am a fo. I can go the shitter whenever the fuck I want. You don't know what you are talking about.

  • a first officer on a 172

  • LMAO!!!nice call buddy

  • wrong, any member of operating crew or company approved jump seat riders can come and go from the cockpit provided the correct procedure is used.

  • actually that is only true on domestic flights, on international flights only tech crew, a designated upper deck cabin crew member (B747) and CASA approved people are allowed there during the flight.

  • there is no time limit on QF pilots and visiting the toilet. Also Qantas now dosen't allow anyone apart from operating crew to be in the cockpit from push back to on blocks.

  • That law was introduced after 911.
