People protecting predators like leopards always say they weed out the weak and sick animals they prey on. Even if they can do that, how does that mean they could beat a Lion? Leopards are amazing animals, but to say that they could kill a Lion is ridiculous. You have to be respectful of nature. If a large male leopard and a hyena went to battle there is only one outcome and that is the leopard kills the hyena, a large male leopard vs a male lion would be killed but against a lioness would be different but would favour the lioness 70/30! Leopard has fear of the lion, because the leopard knows by instinct that it is not match for the lion King. The most the leopard could do is running away and climb a tree.

Each animal has it's own advantages. While there are exceptions to the rules, a it's not in a leopard's interest to fight a hyena. They are basically evenly match. And to the person commenting about 5 hyenas vs, 5 leopards. You better believe that hyenas wouldn't intervene as the leopards would be fighting among themselves first and foremost....

its very rare for a leopard to kill not only in daylight, but a hyena. hyenas are mean and dangerous, even one, so the leopard cant risk injury to attack it, as leopards are solitary animals. you wont find a video of a leopard attacking a hyena, thats how rare it is. and look how confident the leopard walk past the male lions, he KNEW no male lions would mess with him.

leopards without a doubt ARE afraid of lions. they run up trees at the site of a lion and in a 1 on 1 fight the only outcome would be a dead leopard. i love all big cats but that is just the facts. you guys should watch big cat diary on animal planet, very imformative.

if I was a lion I would think twice before taking on a male leopard. Sure you might kill it but one or two bad bites and it could easily end your ability to hunt so you would die as well.

What lies. No Leopard, even the biggest Male, could kill even a female Lion. This person knows nothing about animals. Do you know why Leopards hide their kills in trees? Even if they can do that, how does that mean they could beat a Lion? Leopards are amazing animals, but to say that they could kill a Lion is ridiculous. You have to be respectful of nature. Leopards hide their prey in trees because they can't compete head on with Lions, so to say that a Leopard could kill a Lion is contradictory to the Leopard's methods and to its place in nature.

This leopard is awesome and the lions are totally freaked by it and the hyenas should be worried. If a large male leopard and a hyena went to battle there is only one outcome and that is the leopard kills the hyena, a large male leopard vs a male lion would be killed but against a lioness would be different but would favour the lioness 70/30! The leopard is a more skilled hunter as it is independant where the lions need there pride as they hunt in the open plaines!

@dpunk1987 The leopard is not fearless.He just knows from that distance the lion poses no threat. The camera makes it looks close but they are actually far away. Fear is essential for the survival of such animals. Many people think fear is a bad thing; paralyzing fear is bad, but a normal dose of fear you can control can give you an edge.
