i have eyes that my family calls harrison green i didnt know my real daddy he died when i was 2 my mom did to but this is my song i just changed what fits me kathy ann harrison
Love Tanya’s distinctive vibrato – just like the Country Queens before her (Tammy, Dolly & Loretta), you always know the singer after the first note is sung. No one today can touch these classic singers – no one comes close
I remember hearing this song on my Mommas ole Panasonic radio sitting on the window sill in Hidden Valley, Abingdon VA. We all have came a long ways since then...a simple way of life that we probably all wish we could return too.
@TEXASGUNFIGHTER Hey I hear ya.I remember hearing this song as a teenager myself, would hear it on the radio riding to the little country store with my neighbor and her granddaughter in the summer.Mama and I didn't talk about things, but,my wonderful neighbor pointed out that she believed this song was probably a true story.
The thing I find most haunting about this song is that he never seems to stop looking for a "little green-eyed girl", even though thirty years pass over the course of the song. It's as though he's frozen himself in time and in his memories, possibly helped by the alcohol. Finding his daughter and her mother meant so much to him that he kind of fell apart and couldn't, but if he had just held it together, he might have been able to actually find them.
craig when you live on a farm like I did you arent allowed to wear anything but dresses like that when you go out and dress up. It was respectful. I raised my girls to dress with not revealing hardly any skin. NO cleavage. It was to repect yourself
@eyesblueyes Well, I certainly understand the "respect yourself" thing, but I think you have to admit, some of those patterns and color combinations used to do it back in the seventies were a little...strange, LOL. But it's a classic look and actually I like it, though it is nice that modest nice clothes of today manage to cover the cleavage, etc., without being as...well, like a "crazy quilt" on crack, haha.
It's just so amazing when someone so young possess such an amazing voice.I instantly fell in love with her voice when I heard it way back then. She's now one of my top female Country artists of all time.
What an absolutely great song. so damn sad. so damn amazing that this girl was just 15 at the time and she was already a star with delta dawn. saw a special on her last night and she is still beautiful and still so great to see her.
beautiful vibrato in her voice...

Ahh... the oldies:) Wow, if some singers nowadays would sing like this! But, I ain't gonna say too much, I can hardly play jingle bells on a guitar:)
... But still, God bless the old country music!
