you see this and sort of half feel for and admire Spielberg since that must have been a fairly traumatizing experience. he took it on the chin, persevered and became one of the most famous film directors ever. then the other half remembers that Spielberg is a shit "picturemaker" who never really learned to appreciate art.
@4ndreGusmao I interpreted that completely different. I don't think he thought Spielberg was an idiot, I think it was just his no nonsense style. he did gave him Spielberg audience, superb advice and an enviable story to recant. Telling that story was meaningful to Spielberg.
a great story ! i hearded befor on john ford documentary ! they all where influence by john ford........! evry director in the world was influence by him !
thanks for all these interviews Jon, It's rare to get such a unique experience like this! you should do this for all of your films and spread the word to any other filmmakers to do the same, I would love to see stuff like this more for other films :)
Thanks for the interviews Mr. Favreau. I loved your Freddiew movie and how you reached out and embraced the Youtube community. I will forever be a fan.
Wow. What an amazing story to see that one Legendary Director met another. This just shows to follow your dreams everyone.
@ortebalm09 No! Lucky young Spielberg. He meet John Ford and got a lesson in filmmaking from him. Clearly the lesson had an impact on Spielberg, don't ya think?

I love it. This was the one and only moment between the two greatest American film directors and this is what happened. Brilliant.
