  • WoW !! Amazing .. It's like playing in the Dance Club. Yes, I agree from the other comment, she should have pressed most of the sound effect buttons instead of all being programmed. Overall, She is a Very Talented Young Girl, Bravo !! Ms. Tan Yan Tin !! We'd like to meet you someday :-)

  • she has high technique and great sense of performance! How fabulous you are!!

  • This gal's got good showmanship. Showmanship is an important judging criterion at electone festivals. I was a regular at Yamaha Electone Festivals in my teenage yrs but my teacher also commented that I lose out on showmanship.

  • sound effect is good. i prefer everything should not be programmed. she should make an effort to press all buttons.. not fantastic though!

  • that will be a lot of buttons to press!!! haha

  • lol... im also malaysian.. and yes, she is malaysian... you can easily tell by the way they talk. and also, us south east asian chinese look very different from the other asian chinese.

  • why is a NORTHEN REGION beating a CENTRAL REGION? for years the CENTRAL REGION champs.

  • wow. she composed this herself? w-o-w

  • impressive performance. i love it! ^^

  • She is fantastic in this performance. I watched her play during the Yamaha Electone Festival (Live) concert and I was truly iamazed with the way she captured the audiences attention.

Tan Yan Tin deserved the Best Entertainer award. Some of the people sitting in front of me was dancing in their seat thru-out her performance.

  • Impressive. She's very talented and her music rocks! I totally hate the lighting though, very distracting.

  • Whoa. Impressive. And her english was actually quite good, I think. "surreal qualities" isn't exactly kindergarten level vocabulary, you know.

  • chinise people are so smart

  • how about Asian peopleare so smart! And you really don't know if she is Chinese or Japanese or something else!

  • She is a Malaysian Chinese.

  • thank you, i never really asked, but you should really just say Asian b/c you really never know exactly unless you know her in person. but wat ever, thank you

  • lol im a malaysian thats why

  • she could produce much more emotion on a normal piano I supose...

  • I love this piece, electone's give such variety from person to person.

  • Techno is so awesome as it is - to see a piece put together by a little kid is even more awesome. Quite the talent.

  • WOW! She is totally COOL! Her composition is very unusual... I LUV IT!!! Keep up the good work!!!

  • Very interesting! I luv it! Very expressive and young, talented girl. I wish to see her live in concert or festival when she plays.

However, I could hardly hear what she's saying since she got an extremely strong accent (when she tried to introduce herself and the song name at the beginning). Excellent!

  • Simplemente impresionante.

  • Is this Singapore?

  • This gurl is my sis's fren's sis....hahaha...she so damn cool. Luv her playing

  • she was a lil bit too much into it xD look spooky

  • It was cool, but not my fav.

  • AMAZING!! Is that Stagea that she used for the composition??

I'm so sad that stagea is still a rare things in Indonesia.

I wish that Tan Yan Tin could make a good arrangement for me in EL900. Could it be?? Hahahaha.

  • agree and i cant keep up with the price though

  • she is so effectıwe the best as her age that ı saw before n also how can ı reach her ı need to repaır fıngers near to her... pls reach me

  • Stock techno beat in parts, but there are some original aspects to it for sure. Not that there's anything wrong with stock techno beats, it's the only way I know how to do things :)

  • I have to agree to that. Well, she might 'composed' it herself but seriously CHEE SENG, pls tell us you didn't lay a finger to assist? Rhythm creativity for instance...you should know what I'm driving at. Nonetheless, with all due respect, YOU are still an example that many music teachers should follow. Your dedication and drive has always inspired many young talents...ALL the BEST ALWAYS!!

  • No offence, but I think her actions and the way she plays on the electone is a bit dramatic and unnecessary. But it really was a wonderful piece of music she composed though. I really enjoyed the song!

  • Maybe she's just getting into it? I bet she enjoys being up there doing what she loves. She's jammin out :)

  • well, it does make her more interesting to watch. :)

  • I have to admit, I used to play like that as well, and it's not that I was "acting" out the actions. Whenever I play, I really get into it. Playing "stiffly" just isn't the real me. Haa... brings back memories of yester-years...

  • I had never heard of an electone until recently after seeing this video. I want to learn how to play it now! She's awesome!!!

  • Sort of like musical pinball.

  • I myself is an electone player. I'm soooooo shocked with this little girl. Her composition is so entertaining plus her delivery is makes me play the video over and over again. good job =)

  • iam so shock with this little girl, who was so professional in electone peformance, so this is my first time to watch the yamaha electone festival, so any activity again? i wanna to know, i must go to live.

    thanks

  • It still so fun and entertaining even have viewed it again and again. Fabuluous!

  • WOW amazing

  • erm so this girl is going to represent Malaysia in the AEF junior section this coming september?

  • How many EF winners actually compose their repertoire? The contestants are usually good players, but the creativities are likely the work of their teachers. Teachers push their students as far as possible, in hopeful it is enough to win the contest. Musical talents come in various aspects; therefore the purpose is defined by each individual. In no way collaboration defeat the purpose of music. To an extend EF is a teachers' competition; you have to judge it the way it is.

  • I've not experienced teaching nor an electone competition before, but I understand here you're coming from in this. In some respects, the student bears the pride and reputation of the teacher, however it is the teacher's role to inspire his/her student to greater heights and exploration.

  • oh well, not a critism but just my opinion on performer wise, I would expect to see more "originality" of the performer herself, not train the performer into instructor's "clone" or "mirror", it is just deficted the purpose of music. No doubt is a impressive performance, but I do not see any originality or new sparks brought out from the performer thought..

  • Is that really Chee Seng's student? Very impressive Chee Seng...18 years later . This is what Electone is about. The composition highlights the strength of Electone as a digital instrument. Sure you can play classical on it but it will never sound as good as acoustic. I know Yamaha Japan may disagree....so the Electone identity crisis continues....

  • wow. with the advance of electone technology and computerisation, we would only need to concentrate on showmanship onstage

  • hey Chee Seng, congrats again! And good luck to your the other 2 students who made it to the AEF.

  • Thanks ...........

  • Mr. Goh, my most profound congratulations for having trained and nurtured such a brilliant electonist performer as Ms. Tan!!! Truly an inspiration!! Dedicated Electone teachers such as yourself are a gems of the rarest kind, please keep up the great work! I was an organist (never had an electone) myself who converted to the piano. But interests in electone/organ can be rekindled through passionate musicians like yourself!!! KUDOS!!!!

  • I hope I got my facts right... ^^;;;

Ms. Tan ROCKS!!!! She's reminded me so much of a potential Kajiura Yuki-san,(tsubasa chronicles, Noir, xenosaga III) the famous games and animation soundtrack in Japan!

  • its good that yamaha chooses to promote electone only in asia

  • good performance ! anyway this should be Goh chee seng students I guess ? it is a total 99.9% clone of his music arrangement style and expression.

  • This is great work. It saddens me for two reasons: (1) I know my HX-1 will never sound like that; (2) even if it could, I don't know how I would ever learn how to make that happen. It's a shame Yamaha Electone has chosen only to support the southeast Asian playing community.

Still, a fine composition and very expressive. I wish I could work with musicians like you.

  • Yeah...I have a GA1 organ and no way it will sound like that!!! that didn't stop me from checking out the yamaha electones though! XD

  • Ilike your song so much!!!!

  • Congrats On Ur Win !!

    I LOVE Ur Song!!

  • You are PERFECT!!
