  • Ma che è sta roba???

  • This is way better than rock though :P

  • Thank you for your comment, Freakn!

  • @Masami1920 Your welcome! :D

  • Dear Tom,

    thank you for your comment.

Please let me know how theremin is popular in Brazil?

    Masami

  • @Masami1920 in here, Theremin is pratically unknown.

I am trying to find a place to learn to play it properly but I'll have to learn a classical instrument and figure out the theremin all by myself.

    Please do research more! ^^

I'd love to see the theremin become more popular here.

  • There's so much win in this video!

  • Only in Japan...

  • Yeah, that's Asians for ya...

  • Which gogobar in pattaya is this video shot?

  • mooie golfplaten decor!

    rofl

  • WHAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAA!!! LOL.

  • WTF?!

  • Zij is die wijf van die lange.

  • just imagine all of those things standing at the foot of your bed just humming at you O.o

  • This song is so beautiful I think I may cry.

  • Not only is the music epic, but the seriousness of their faces as they wave their hands around dolls wearing stethoscopes is downright hilarious!

  • WHERE MAY I BUY ONE ?

  • Wow - what a surreal kind of orchestra. That's almost as bizarre as the typewriter-beetles from Naked Lunch.

Are the hose headphones needed to avoid brain damage by the RF radiation or would cables mess up the theremin pitch?

  • The tune reminds to Captain Future. It immediately raises impressions of a large and pretty sci-fi spaceship jetting over green landscapes and flying to other planets and galaxies. IMO only the ending should be different - slowly raising the pitch with different vibratos (possibly some players stay at bass notes) like a spaceship launch.

  • omg so cool whatthehell is that?

  • @voicerawks its called a theremin. a magnetic field by the antenna and the iron piece at his right hand

by coming closer it produces more resistance and with that energy that is converted to sound.

  • @Joemomma224

Wrong! Its capacitance between body and antenna, which changes the pitch of a radio frequency oscillator. The difference to a 2nd fixed oscillator is amplified and makes the tone.

  • mummm...what the ham?

  • they must have been very high

  • felicitaciones a esta gente, que original. congratulations!!

  • Reminds me of Doctor Who.

  • †Ó´®´Í Å ΩØÂıˆ´ Ø˜ Áب® ÒÅ∑˜!!!

  • cooles video

    very good making

  • Ach du meine Güte was soll das sein???????

    O.O.O.O.O

  • wtf is that?

  • O_o

  • Where did you get so many dolls?)

  • Simply amazing. To get a Theremin (no matter what shape) to play perfect tunes like these is already a challenge. With so many people, even more of a challenge.

    Just great, kudos to them.

  • Thank you for comment. And we are glad, that you like our theremin performance. We wish that we could play in Korea someday.

  • qe isso ? '-'

  • ein an der klatsche

  • Holy crap that was cool!!!

  • omg

    poor doll

    that they have

  • Ok... I looked it up! They have like a transmitting antennae thing in the doll. It takes a lot of precision but it makes a tone when your hand gets a certain distance away. So that makes this feat pretty special to be able to make a melody. At first I thought they were humming but it's the actual device transmitting the sound waves! Good job!!

  • Thank you for comment. All members of Mable are expert student of japanese theremin player Masami Takeuchi. They have own sound, created by little difference of moving hand. It must be "persona". I think it is very interesting that difference of personas make sound on electroninc instruments.

  • estas mamadas que significan?

  • ET soundtrack lol

  • Muito legaLLLL;

  • Who is song stopping

  • je suis désolée mais c'est pourri !

  • Watever that was it was cool

  • Brahahahaha, only in Japan! Good job! More!

  • i dont get what they're doing..

  • i looked it up a theremin is "is an early electronic musical instrument controlled without contact from the player."

  • me too

  • @NiniRamenNoodle Cant you read the description?

  • ! ! !

  • o.o i seiriuosly had no idea wat the were doing

  • yo what the hell is this?

    some freaky preformance

  • All I can say is .....some of these chicks could give one helluva hand job.....:)

  • some people are weird. just weird.

  • WHAT IS THIS?....

  • what the fuck is this shit!?!?!??!?!??! This is the freakiest thing I've seen all day.

  • ^_^!! huhuhuh

  • lol...what is this ?

  • Search for "Theremin, the untouchable music" at Youtube and see the video by Pamelia Kurstin. Fom 5:20 in the vid, and she explains how a theremin works.

  • Sounds like humming!

  • what is this

  • This is out of this world... I have seen some instruments kind of like this one at other concerts but this is crazy..

  • For the first 20 seconds I was looking for the strings.

    Good job.

  • Um guys it's the theme song to the bourne trilogy:

    Bourne identity

    Bourne supremacy

    Bourne ultimatum

Great music wow I never thought this was made by instruments like these! Great music guys flawless!

  • Ozzy can play better than all of them

  • The thing is cool. I want to get my wife one...but she whines enough. J/K!

  • I recommend to gift it to your wife, if your wife were musician. Many famous musicians, actors love to play on Matryomin in Japan. They say that It is not gadget, but a high-quality one antenna theremin.

  • Your Funny

  • My bad.....$477.00.......

  • You can buy one for $744.00

  • You can buy it 44,016JPY in Japan (approximately 450USD)

  • OH so beautiful!

This music has a nostalgic feeling to it. :)

    Especially at 1:14.

    Simply amazing.

  • Thank you for your comment. I am glad that you like our performance.

  • Okay, so, I'm not used to being this confused, I have to say... I'm bedazzled! lol. wow. Fake with cool editing and practice or an asian...something we don't know about.

  • Do you know Theremin? Matryomin is a matrioshka shaped theremin. There is a real theremin performance, no fake.

Maybe you do not know, that level of playing on theremin is very high in Japan. All members of "Mable" are expert theremin player. Someone of them has a 10 years long carrier in playing theremin.

  • I always wondered if theremin playing was as popular now as it was when it first started. I'm glad to see that it's still played in Japan! I plan on getting a theremin soon, it has always interested me. Thanks for the video!

  • WTF? What r they doing to make that sound? It's awesome!

  • I like that

  • how do they do that?

  • i wonder how theremins work..... O.o

  • Fantastic. More please!

  • Wow...Talaga good!!! Ekaw ay Matalino...Wow really great

  • Very nice and great playing.....

  • i dont understand.

  • i don't get it either - wth?

  • Theremin is an instrument you play without touching anything. It's two sets of radio wave transmitter/receivers, that recognizes if something comes in it's range. There are two antennas, with one you control the pitch, the one pointing up. And with the other antenna you control volume. The two antennas are separated by receiving on each of their radio wave frequency, so that they are separated from the other hand`s move.

  • See the video by Pamelia Kurstin at Ted-Talks here at Youtube. "Theremin, the untouchable music" See from 5.20 when she is explaining how the theremin works. Also listen to some of her great playing in the same conference/video.

  • Sounds to me like the theme to a sci-fi series for some reason.

  • Crazy stuff! :-)

  • Hi it me ac

  • Comment removed

  • i thought they were humming :P hehe thanks for clarifying =)

  • They look so intense...

  • Yes. They look intense, since it needs a lot of concentration to get the right pitch at all times. Search for Carolina Eyck to see another theremin player. There are some other amazing theremin players online, too.

  • Thanks! Its fascinating!

  • never mind i looked it up now i know what is making the noise XD

  • Wow! they can even play flat and sharp on that instrument... kewl!

  • huh

  • im sorry but what were they doing?? im so lost =( were there strings there but i couldnt see them??? please explain and help me out

  • haha

  • the instrument is called a theremin, there are no strings, the sound is trigger by your hand breaking the force barrier around it, therefor vibrating a pole setting off sound

  • thankyou very much for clarifying that for me ^_^ i had no clue where the sound was coming from

  • ehh kinda star trecky

  • So this is what they used on The Fifth Element! Aha

  • If I knew doing shit like that could lead to somtheing... but I am not that corny.

The hole deal was to put a bunch of people to play something like a theremin attached to a doll, that was it.

  • they use a theremin. I think it's on the back or inside the dolls but it generates sound by the distance and movement of a person's hand. it was really an interesting topic to read up on in wikipedia.

  • yes

  • it must be some kind of art i guess to sing?

  • That was cool and odd but still cool. I heart matrioshka dolls.

  • im freaking out man!!!!

  • Why the Matreshka dolls? Why the Stethoscopes? Why the humming? Why the funny hand gestures? Why why why???

  • They aren't humming, they're playing the theremin...which is made up of the doll/stethoscope combo.

  • I had no idea this instrument existed. Very cool!!

  • whhhhaaaat thee.... this is kinda freaky yet cool at the same time

now i gotta look up whats a theremin lol

  • what is it exactly are they doing?

  • Strange and bizarre. What the hell, why not?

The world is full of strangeness.

  • macibai stupid !!

  • wtf this is kinda freakin me out

  • chujnia

  • don't hear it...it will change your mood to be a whole stupid day's for u....:-p

  • They are playing the theremin (an instrument.) Theirs are shaped like matrioshka (Russian nesting dolls) Great performance....hilariously ridiculous with the dolls! Search YouTube for theremin examples.
