i always loved how the goons had code names like mercury and jupiter or paste and stamp for professor gum. and name tags!! yes!! hi! i'm pipe wrench, i work for the joker and we're robbing plumbers this week!
i don't know what the idea is behind those idiots reasoning to hold up putting this out on dvd. i was 7 years old in 1966 & i remember when this came out originally. we baby boomers who grew up on this series are not getting any younger. & i got news for you who are holding up releasing this. after we baby boomers who remember this show so fondly start dying off, then the millions of us who otherwise would have are not going to be buying this series.
@stanbrekston This is one of the many series I just don't get not coming on DVD. If people want to fight over profits let there be profits to fight over. I agree with you, if they don't release it soon there won't be profits for them to fight over.
@Ryokosha i agree. i don't know if you're one, but babyboomers such as myself ar'nt going to last forever. & once we die, we ain't buying no batman dvd.
I NEVER got this trap....when we last see the "thermite," it had PASSED the cable. So what's supposed to happen next?? Is it supposed to go around again and this time, hit the cable?? I don't get it!! HELP! This has puzzled me since I was a kid but I never asked!
Has anyone considered how much time must have gone in to the white make-up for the actors playing the stone henchmen...and Venus? Tremendous ability to hold still...or is that done by some other means?
The 60s were so...very...odd. I mean, unless that singer is Andrea Bocelli there's NO reason for him to be so surprised when he starts getting kidnapped!
I cannot believe how dangerously close the Boy Wonder came to banging his head on that concrete bench! I wonder if it was scripted that way or if Ward nearly did smash his skull? We often take for granted that filming scenes such as this can impose certain dangers.
@AntiqueAngel44, go to 4:55 to 4:59. Around that space. Robin's head gets too close for comfort by the bench. It is amazing how he avoids getting "brained." My guess is that it really would have put out his lights, and possibly for good!
Oh I see; right after 'Venus' pours that knock glitter on to both of them. You that bench could have very well been just be a prop; not very hard or heavy at all, so even if the boy's head had made contact with it I’m sure that he would not have been hurt that badly.
@AntiqueAngel44, you do have a good point. Perhaps the bench was only a prop, made of something soft such a styrofoam. In that case, actor Burt Ward was not in any danger. However, in the storyline it was likely real, and it could have offered the Boy Wonder "a free trip to heaven," borrowing Joker's words, had he banged his head on it so hard to the point of actually dying, which could have happened in real life to young Ward had his skull made contact with all that stone. I can only guess.
he doesn't actually want them dead though, that's why his shit is always faulty. If the Joker ever killed Batfuck then he'd be finished. depression, dumb his girlfriend, visit his parents graves and then probably blow up the planet or something out of a change of heart, or some odd thing.
At 1:54, incorrect the crab sign isn't Crustacean, it's Cancer! What Robin should have said was: "Leo the Lion and Cancer the Crab. Crabs are in the Crustacean family."
@FanOfBats you don,t know how to make a playlist,I,have 10 playlists on my site going,It,s very easy ,all U have to do is find all of your favorite batman episodes n then put the ones that you like together ,title them n then you have your playlist, usually ,you tube tells you how to make a playlist, but I,m sure that with all of the batman episodes that you have ,you should have no problem ,making the list ,that you want
Actuall, according to the regular network sxhedule , the shows aired Wednesday and Thursday. It may have varied though in different markets.
After Part three of this story airded on Wednesday, they aired a two part Catwoman Thursay and the Next Wenesday. This is the evil Robin one with Leslie Gore.
Then the next night they began a three part Penguin Marcia Quenn of Diamonds story that concluded the next Thursday and got the series back to the Wednesday Thursday Schedule.
I knew this wasn't the only three part episode. Although I had originally thought it was the one with Penguin and Lola Lasagna. Ethel Merman as a bat villain....hahahaha!!!!
did this episode take 3 days rather then just the regular 2? normally the episode had 6 parts, 3 on 1 day abd 3 on the next, but does this one take 3?
Throughout Seasons 1 and 2, Part 1 aired on Thursdays and Part 2 aired on Fridays. With this three parter, that tradition changed for a few weeks since Part 3 aired in the Thursday slot and Part 1 of the Evil Robin arc aired on the Friday and concluded the following Thursday.
Love the part where Venus yells "Fiend!" and the Joker just laughs "Yes!" Man, you can tell Romero was just having the time of his life playing this part.
joker was getting a little too old for those fight scenes. watch how hard he goes down @3:37

Wh3nYour3Strang3 2 years ago
Shouldn't they call it a "Bat Opera"?

Only if Batman felt compelled to finish the song after Joker kidnapped the singer. Which would be awesome.

Didn't you know Batman sang "My Little Buttercup" in the episode with The Black Widow?

No. I did not. But if you're serious, I'm going to check that out.
Wh3nYour3Strang3 2 years ago
Robin asked him to sing it while he was under Black Widow's power, and broke the spell.

It's in the episode "Caught In The Spider's Web" (which is on YouTube, so check it out!)
