(it really is an awesome show), but WP is about 3 girls (4 in the 2nd and DX seasons, 5 in the omake) who have to transform into love angels in order to battle a force called the devil world (it's a war conflict) and it's a bit more romantic, the last eppy of season 2 made me cry, it was good
WTF? Magical Girl is a GENRE! All of these things that you people claim were "copied" from Sailor Moon, are the elements that make the genre! Mini-skirts, school girls, animal sidekicks, attacks, glory speeches, all that is archetypical of any Magical Girl anime/manga.

But in SM, the music is much better during the transformation (japanese only!) so maybe that adds onto it? idk WP doesnt look bad. so many other animes have it like tokyo mew mew, sm is just.best.

Both Sailormoon and Wedding Peach are all cool. The transformations of them are like typical 90's...but its alright. its still cool to see in this 3rd millennium.
I really like this anime & manga alot. I especially like it because not only are the girls strong in this series but momoko knows how to fight for herself as well. Also I would like to point out that the creator of Sailor Moon didnt create this series at all it was created by Nao Yazawa. Thanks for the clip you rock.
I hope you are joking because Wedding Peach is neither created by Naoko Takeuchi nor was the anime made by Toei. The manga was created by Nao Yazawa and Sukehiro Tomita and the anime was co-produced by KSS, TV Tokyo and NAS. The character designer of the Wedding Peach anime ALSO worked on Sailor Moon (she worked on the Sailor Moon R movie, as an example), thus the similarities in the look of the characters.
I love both shows but I couldn't let this level of ignorance slide.

Sailor Moon is the single greatest anime of all time, BECAUSE it uses cool Magical Girl stereotypes, and anything using the same concepts HAS to be an awesome anime! For what it's worth, Sailor Moon and Wedding Peach both used the same character design artist -- Kazuko Tadano. Her signature art style shaped both TV shows.
That said, I do not think the Tadano-designed "Wedding Peach" rips off the Tadano-designed "Sailor Moon" any more than the Jack Kirby-designed "Iron Man" rips off the Jack Kirby-designed "Fantastic Four." ^_^

plz guys remember that this was developed froma manga, so really, it would only be a rip off if it wasn't a manga first! If people think it seems like a rip off, it's the animators fault, for using the same sound effects (which were probably very common). I love SM and i am starting to love WP too. please people stop compairing sailor moon and wedding peach its pissing me off now
yea the mangas were created by two different people
but both shows were created by same company and the person who directed sailor stars directed wedding peach so no wonder why they have the same affects
guys you act like as if the world will end just because they seem simular by tranformations , look up the story line and all that crap its different

I really like this anime & manga alot. I especially like it because not only are the girls strong in this series but momoko knows how to fight for herself as well. Also I would like to point out that the creator of Sailor Moon didnt create this series at all it was created by Nao Yazawa. Thanks for the clip you rock.

I hope you are joking because Wedding Peach is neither created by Naoko Takeuchi nor was the anime made by Toei. The manga was created by Nao Yazawa and Sukehiro Tomita and the anime was co-produced by KSS, TV Tokyo and NAS. The character designer of the Wedding Peach anime ALSO worked on Sailor Moon (she worked on the Sailor Moon R movie, as an example), thus the similarities in the look of the characters.
I love both shows but I couldn't let this level of ignorance slide.

Face it, you were wrong. There were plenty of magical girls before Sailor Moon. Sally the Witch was the first magical girl anime. Then came Minky Momo, Majokko Megu-chan, Himitsu no Akko-chan, etc. Then came Cutie Honey, the first magical girl who was a hero against evil powers rather than just having powers.
Sailor Moon was the first magical girl anime who did this in a magical girl team.
Its not that hard to understand.

lol I think there confusing it with the fact that it was the first one widely accepted over in North America it def. popularized the genre. But then again I remember Sally the witch lol and alot of other mahou shoujo. Mitsuteru Yokoyama got the Idea for sally from Bewitched which was very popular (japanese dub) with japanese teenage girls in the 60's Cutie Honey was more of a proto type or base blue print for transformation. never the less still the original concept holder. well later!!

Um, just for the count, I have nothing against Wedding Peach (I love the manga) but Sailor moon was my first ever anime (so first that I didn't even know it was an anime until I learned of anime) and so it holds a special place for me.
That's just my opinion though.

OMG... I freaking LOVE this anime, and I haven't even seen the first episode yet! Also to those people complaining that this is a copy of Sailor Moon, you're right, but why complain? Sailor Moon is the single greatest anime of all time, BECAUSE it uses cool Magical Girl stereotypes, and anything using the same concepts HAS to be an awesome anime! This isn't a rip-off, it's just another Magical Girl anime, and the outfits are even cooler than Sailor Moon's, SO BACK THE HELL OFF! XD

Sailor Moon manga was created in early 90 (about 91-92) and an anime produced of it, starting to air in Japan around end of 92 or beginning of 93.

to be honest, i'm having a hard time figuring out how this can be considered a sailor moon rip-off...the plot? nowhere even near the same. characters? they don't wear similar outfits, nor do the characters look the same. so what is it that makes this a sailor moon rip-off? :/ someone tell me. but i love their transformations :) so beautiful and simple.

For what it's worth, Sailor Moon and Wedding Peach both used the same character design artist -- Kazuko Tadano. Her signature art style shaped both TV shows.
That said, I do not think the Tadano-designed "Wedding Peach" rips off the Tadano-designed "Sailor Moon" any more than the Jack Kirby-designed "Iron Man" rips off the Jack Kirby-designed "Fantastic Four." ^_^

plz guys remember that this was developed froma manga, so really, it would only be a rip off if it wasn't a manga first! If people think it seems like a rip off, it's the animators fault, for using the same sound effects (which were probably very common). I love SM and i am starting to love WP too. As LuckySailorStar said, it's hard to create something original AND nice!
