Taqiyya is not explicitly ever mentioned in the Quran, and only talks about stories where a Muslim was placed in a life compromising situation. The Quran never actually says that we're allowed to write a lie about Islam, or a number of other things that Taqiyyah seemingly allows. I believe the Quran is the word of God (and I know y'all Islam haters disagree) and that Hadith is word of mouth. These rights were not explicitly stated in the book before the Quran (the Holy Bible), so they were reiterated and cleared up in the Quran.
