It is very small churchu :) We have veri big big big moved church :) City Most (czech republic) :)

  • whats the original song called?

  • Jajaja... Es algo raro, pero como sea. Está bien XD. El de la iniciativa - el pastor o el que fuese - no sé, pero está media pasada a lo absurdo.

  • Alguien me puede decir cual es el nombre de la cancion que suena en el minuto 1,25??

  • @OakPark11MileRd There is only one color in Manning.

  • Ridiculous.

  • I love how the science move the things and do the job!

  • Why do they use a tractor to move the church and not God´s special powers?

  • They were just cruising around the block ;)

  • how did thay lift it on did all the church people do it i new a shop lifter ones

  • I wish it would of toppled :(. Depressing it didn't.

  • terrible sound quality, thanks!

  • @Basch3000 - you and this video arrived at YT in 2007. However, that's where the similarity ends. You are tedious and depressing, while this video is full of fun and win.

  • @nameofthepen Thank you for your wonderful comment. You are too kind.

  • @nameofthepen Oh, offcourse! In 2007 mankind was not advanced enough to produce any better sound quality than this. Stupid of me. This video is great, indeed. But this quality is absolutely terrible.

  • Na polskich drogach to by się raczej nie udało. Oni drogi polne mają szersze, dłuższe i równiejsze niż my autostrady.

  • Totally freeking awsome. God bless those people for saving that church. !!!

  • lol cool

  • How much did this cost?

  • Just used this in an ESL class as a prompt for using the passive voice. Thanks!

  • @ProjectGamer010 It was AWKWARD

  • Woah...our town just moved a 150 year old church, which was quite amazing to see, but this video is amazing!! Wow!

  • HERE IT COMES

  • mra cla ug mga alien......'

    nice score

  • "Mom! A church just drove by our house!"

  • To the lady with the red shirt and blue shorts, yea it is a big deal, even to us city folk. She needs a cup of coffee and a poptart shoved in her mouth

  • Comment removed

  • Only in America I guess. I sincerely hope the big man upstairs doesn't turn it into matchsticks during tornado season.

  • lol

  • also. the church was like half a mile from my house so..

  • ok let me say something. I WAS THERE!! im in the video. they only moved it 12 miles to a neighboring town because they didnt want it to fall down again like 100yrs ago. i was baptizes in this church. i hate that they said hundreds of miles.

  • on Massive Moves 02/13/10

  • wow huh. brillant

  • LoL.., that has gotta be the darndest thing I ever did see :D

    Made my night!!

  • Been moving for 24 years now in BC.Wouldn,t want to do anything else ,well some days, but what a fulfilling job when you do a huge move

  • There is something beautifully absurd about watching a church trundle along a road. Excellent TV series, excellent music too. Personally I think 'Touch the Stars' is better music for the speeded up sequences.

    Thanks Mr P

  • The church was moved 12 miles, not hundreds.

  • Even though I'm Jewish, this is still pretty cool.

  • THANK YOU JESUS.

  • Terry Gilliam, eat your heart out.

  • lol!

I thought it looked like somthing he might do.

(Did the old Monty Python animations, for those not catching the Terry Gilliam referance)

  • Makes a change!.. Bringing Christianity to the people instead of turning people to Christianity!

Nice vid. I pray its still standing with all that journey!

  • i like americans, they got humor... :D

  • yeah they have, moving a church with a gospel-choir at the front of the convoy!!!!!

  • Praise John Deere! :-)

    Great video. I loved it.

  • Thanks for sharing ma dear Nom ! ;-)

    AWESOME video ! Hahahaha

    Strange, weird, but fantastic !

You háve to live in the USA to see this !

    Hahahaha

    :o) Annet

  • AWESOME!!! thanks for sharing!

    xD

  • Very cool. Great production, too!

  • USA is a strange place. :|

  • Yes. I do agree with you on this topic.

  • Wrong Lincoln Township then. There are more townships with that name. The correct one is Lincoln Township, Audubon, Iowa

  • And then the next year a tornado comes and destroys it... :-P

  • 100 of miles is quite exaggerated..

The church was moved from Lincoln Township Iowa tot Manning Iowa, about 10 miles

  • google earth says 155 Miles...

  • Man, that's such a strange bit of footage! I love it! and the music is GREAT! like somthing the beatles might have done (if they were truckers) * * * * * stars.

looks like an Eric Idle animation, except it really happened! WOW!

  • Big Cloot is in here.

  • LOL

  • Nice vid!

  • why does this have 150k veiws?

  • Maybe you get to see a huge building in front of your house every day, but I guess there are 140,000+ people who don't. So what's the problem? (No answer required, btw.)

OMG, I cant believe they would allow a church on youtube! (Sarcasm, fyi)

    Awesome vid. :) 5 stars

  • why does lady gaga have millions?

  • The church in which my parents were married looks EXACTLY like this one, and has just been moved from Erwin, South Dakota to De Smet, to be a part of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Homestead. I love this video.

  • anyone know why it had to move in the first place?

  • They couldent smell jesus

  • They found a shit load of alter boys buried underneath it.

  • Well, as the ole expression goes, if you don't go to church, the church shall come to you! (Literally)!

  • shut your face

  • Originaly this architectural style of Church came all the way from London England; the first famous such Church is St. Martins In The Field Church, Trafalgar Square, London WC2.

    .

St Martin-in-the-Fields is an Anglican church at the northeast corner of Trafalgar Square in the City of Westminster, London.

Its patron is Saint Martin of Tours.

    .

It is contempraneous with the establishment of the original colonies, in the nowadays United Sates.

    .

Come to London and check it out !

  • dont drink that you migght catch it

  • malaria!

  • Oh my what a trip.

  • A moving experience!

  • How to become a Christian click on:

    Godisreal101

  • im glad they moved it. Why spend $100k to build a new church when you could move the old one, which was very nice looking, for about 10k? Plus it has historical and senimental value.

  • ok man

  • lol must be a church made of paper

  • good one!...

  • wooden church...na doesnt look ry.. must be americans chopping and changing everything again

  • man i wish the dam thing fell off

man that would of been a laugh.

  • lol thats no church thats a chapel. Those crazy americans with there cheap prefab buildings.

Why moving somthing that was only there for 100 years? Make it 300 and it would have some value.

  • LooK 0:35 and reps

  • Corny! :P

    But koul!

  • I think it's was a very good idea, to preserve a historical and spiritual symbol of the american christendom; I only regret churches are demolished and instead of them, bars, pubs, casinos and supermarkets are built in their places; what about doing the contrary: less casinos, clubs and supermarkets and more churches?

  • it was on National Geographic Channel (poland) yesterday..

  • Its to late, the last 20 years we all say OK its just they need to learn etc etc.. NO they don't learn.. its there culture they destroy everything.. ALL islam countrys are FUCK, no woman rights, no rights at all and if you are not one of them you will be killed.

Ahh i get it.. your just a loser who cannot get a life without thinking there is such as a losergod who will help you (Right) just think of me in 2012

  • p.s. I AM NOT A REDNECK, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

  • lol im from this town! woot go manning! oh and btw THERE WAS NO GRAVYARD SO JUST SHUT UP!

  • Didn't you have any power lines to deal with? Or did they take them all down ahead of time? When we moved a church, we had to remove the tower to deal with the cost of the power lines. Cool any way! Movers from KS

  • lol i was watching this on demand the other night lol it was awesome just had to find it again lol

  • Just saw this on tv and had to find it online to watch this song again... freakin amazing. Here It Comes!

  • The biggest thing I've even seen move was a two storey house. This was cool!

  • I detest religion and truly appreciate it for what it really is a disgusting fallacy, but i just love this freaking song.

  • Part 11

"So when I saw this film the first time, I cried. And it still makes me laugh and cry to watch it. The people who worked on this project are the Salt of the Earth and are very proud of their heritage, rightly so..."

  • That's a great story.I have just watched this episode for the first time on UK tv and even though i have nothing to do with this particular church i still found it very moving.I myself am a Christian, though i'm not deeply religous i still think its lovely. All the people coming out with the foul comments are just idiots trying to get a rise out of idiots.Basically just "Trolling" which is the main thing that seems to happen on Youtube comments.Anyhow-great video!,i'm glad it all went well.

  • Part 10

Once people learned that there was already a large fund started, they were willing to also contribute."

  • Part 9

"...of money to start a fund for the relocation of the church, in my father's name."

He had died the year before. My cousin later told me that my money was the seed money that made the whole thing go"

  • Part 8

"I was so moved, when I later learned that they were either going to tear it down or move it into town, that I gave a generous amount..."

  • Part 7

"...baptized, married or buried, going back to the late 1800's.

"And I found my father's name and all his family and my name written in the book."

  • Part 6

"There even was a coffee pot near the sink. Upstairs near the entrance I even found the big book in which they had hand written the names of all the people..."

  • Part 5

"...coffee and donuts after services every Sunday." That day, it looked like they had just had services there the week before with banners still up on the walls in the classrooms, etc."

  • Part 4

"The church had a choir loft, a crying room, a lovely organ with pipes, an elaborate alter for a country church. It was just like Lutheran churches Garrison Keeler talks about with a large meeting room and classrooms in the basement where they would have..."

  • Part 3.

"This church is the one that my father's family, and even I, were all baptized in."

In 1998 when I was back there for a reunion, I saw the church still sitting up on the hill but there were too few parishioners around there to support a pastor, and so they had stopped holding services there a year or so before. When we went there in '98, my sisters and I and our spouses, found the front door unlocked so we went in and looked around."

  • Part 2

    Moving Trinity Church, Manning, Iowa

    "Hi All,

This was filmed by a film crew from England several years ago for a series shown there called "Monster Moves". They went around the world filming the moving of various buildings, trains, etc. They came over to Manning, Iowa to film the moving of this Lutheran church from its location in the middle of the farm fields, to a location in Manning where they are making a historic German living museum.

  • Part 1.

After reading all of the 124 comments here, most of them rude and by people who seem to know nothing about "giving," family pride or historic preservation, I decided to post in several parts, a portion of an e-mail from my friend who put up the seed money to move this church. This is one of the best videos on youtube made possible by the generous heart of one wonderful woman. Thanks M.B., you are great!

  • What a waste of time and resources. And for what so people can go there on sunday to talk to their imaginary friend up in the sky, get real you are all slaves to your superstition.

  • Y'know, it seems funny to me that you never hear Christians talking about burning Atheist's homes or property down.

  • It's also funny we never hear atheist brag about killing christians, and everything else under the sun. If a so called christian kills someone then he or she is not truely a christian. But, judge away because we all will be judged in the end and ill pray for u buddy.

  • I don't see where this video or my comment have anything to do with killing someone. And if you're referring to what some "Christians" have done in the past, then that argument is moot because they don't speak for me or my faith. You're right, their actions were not rooted in Christianity, and never will be.

  • Thanks for realix=zing that and i seperate myself as far as i can from someone that calls themselves a christian and does such crazy actions

  • wouldve been nicer to see it in flames.... ATHEISM FTW!

  • I think you are confusing atheism with vandalism.

  • weird.

  • best best best ever.

  • What an enjoyable video! Thanks for sharing!

  • Dear Prudence

  • This needs Yakkety Sax

  • Fantastic video! Beautifully done.

Quite a spectacle, handled with class and good humor.

  • Very, very kewl! Thanks for posting.

  • Haha :p

  • WOW! thats funny, and really awesome how they can do some things!

  • I love this song

  • lmao, same all the way!..I can't stop singing it!

  • Some peoples children.

  • wtf?

  • Wow, this video was posted on Ebaum's world.

  • hell no why we we dig up the dead peeps?!?

  • Why do you think the dead are digged up? a church and a graveyard is eay far the same.

  • Here it comes

  • Awesome video. Very well done and about the coolest thing I have ever seen!

  • people who don't enjoy watching this are going to have trouble enjoying life. fucking morons.

  • Prais Lord Jesus!

  • moving video

  • Them Rednecks are some weird people... Did they move the graveyard too?

  • I am not ******* weird and happen 2 be 1 of those rednecks your dissing fu

  • not all churches have a graveyard beside them

  • It's pretty annoying that people bring a religious argument into a piece that's probably one of the most remarkable and well-made films on YouTube.

I'm not Christian, but this is off the scale

  • I agree!

  • This is great!

  • The lord moves in mysterious ways (Ha ha)

  • ROFL

  • LMAO! Someone HAD to say it :P

  • Imagine holding a service in a moving church...

  • i'm as atheist as you can get but that video is boss.

  • good job...

  • That is simply amazing!

and to those who are childishly bashing people because it has something to do with christianity: grow up

  • this is the reason why we have terrible narrow winding roads with overhead power cables, houses made of bricks with 6ft concrete foundations going into the ground in the UK. People will steal anything these days. I hope the police caught these guys.

  • lol....police was escorting them

  • NOOOOOOO!

  • ???
