I hope CHCH does focus more on the Golden Horseshoe when Global finally gets the hell out. This E! bull crap nonsense was a mistake from day one. I want a local station with local news--more often. GoogleWonderwheel: Iagree with you 110% bring back the REAL CHCH TV 11!
WBAL-TV in baltimore (incidentally, a channel 11 station too like CHCH) did...their jingle using this same music package also had the same line in the chorus ("there's a story/there's glory/there's pride inside..."), but the line after that part for their version went, "baltimore, 11's on your side"...
It's definitely Matt Hayes on the piano. Dan Maclean isn't getting married there--he's with co-anchor Connie Smith and legendary newsman Tom Cherington--looks to have been shot inside Southam House. Outdoor shots at Dundurn Castle, Sam Lawrence Park, Princess Point...also of note...shoppers at Eastgate Square (0:35), joggers on Ravenscliffe Avenue (0:37) and check out the kid with the Commodore 64 keyboard at the start!
It was cool seeing Tom Cherington after such a long time....
As well tvlondon, I think that CHCH expanded to cover the whole province (perhaps from the heavy demand for WWF (now E) Wrestling) which was on the station until about 1993/4...
CHCH started covering a wider region in 1998. Until then, the only way to get them in the London and anything south of it was with cable.
Also, they did air WWF as late as 1999 or 2000. It was bumped to Saturday nights. They'd play WWF Shotgun(which replaced Maple Leaf Wrestling) and then played WCW Thunder as well. I remember sitting up late on Saturday to watch wrestling on a crappy little b&w TV because I was too poor to afford cable, or a better TV even. :(
They actually aired a edited version of WCW Nitro before TSN but the full episodes on in 1998 the rest you said was true as they kept airing WWF programing until 2000 the final show being WWF Metal which replaced Jakked which replaced Shotgun Saturday Night. Also Maple Leaf Wrestling was replaced in 1994
channel 4 milwaukee also used that jingle

or they can do a modern take on that classic flower logo, to maybe help strengthen their return to being a true-blue indie station.

Yeah, WBZ Boston used this package a few years before CHCH. (I worked at CHCH in the 80s and 90s).

I really miss what this station was...CanWest took a hatchet to it and it's a mere shadow of what it was. It's a tragedy.

Matt Hayes looks a hell of a lot better in this video then he does today. Too perma-tanned, too much gold, too much hair.

I'm 99% positive that's Matt Hayes on the piano at 0:48

Is Dan McLean trying to get married there?
There was another version I saw which had Ontario mentioned instead of Hamilton, circa 1990.
