I loved Brownie above all. His uptempo tunes never fail to make me smile, and his ballad renditions never fail to touch my heart. No surprise that when I occasionally travel in Europe and ask young trumpet players who their favorite is, they unfailingly say, "Clifford Brown."
Certainly we regret the early loss of Clifford. However I ask myself: in that short he was interpretating musical ideas of such creativity and maturity - could he have sustained the exceptionally high level of creativity? His tone and control of the instrument was already beyond most - then what further? I certainly feel he had still so many great compositions in him. RIP Clifford
It's been 55 years since we tragically lost Brownie. I had hoped he would carry Fats's torch after we tragically lost Fats, but it was not to be. No one has come close ever since. Thanks for this posting; it vividly demonstrates that Brownie's sense of soul and emotion on the trumpet was also second to none.

最愛的曲子 ! 最愛的版本 ! 黃金般的音色 , 吹出了如同置身星空下一般的寧靜 , 又彷彿訴說著他自己流星一般短暫又璀璨的生命. . . . . . .
