the easiest way to build up to that number again would be to do a lot of negatives, if you need some advice let me know

almost, negatives are where you start at the top of the range of motion and lower yourself as slowly as possible.
For negatives there shouldn't be any pulling motion.
Wrap your hands around the bar and jump to the top of the range of motion than lower yourself as slowly as possible.
