Wow... That's really all I can say to that. Nobody really scored to much the entire game, and it comes down to the last 4-5 plays in the game, where 21 points between the two teams is scored. That's one impressive game! Nice upload!
American football would be more exciting if it got rid of the helmets and allowed players and officials to punch each other in the head like we do in Australian football. Just type in "Up There Cazaly" and click on the black and white picture to see some of our greatest all time punches to the head.
As one of the three receivers that ran down the field on the final play, I remember being in momentary shock about what had just happened. It took a moment for me stand up after watching Dan Sellers trot into the endzone. - Rob Guthrie #80 that day.
@wannabeserpento99 Have you ever though that the intended audience would see football and know what it means? Not to mention the fact that it says "touchdowns" I don't think those are in socce... sorry I meant football.
I remember reading about this game; this was just months after I had graduated from Principia. Dan Sellers, who caught the winning TD pass, was a classmate of mine at Prin, but he had come back for one more quarter because he had football eligibility left. Didn't know there was any footage of this game out there, especially after almost 25 years.
I was playing in that game for IC. The coach pulled out all the linebackers on the last play and put in all secondary people (FS & CB's). There was no real defensive plan and coverage was not where it should have been.
Yes, I know him well, he and I were the inside linebackers for IC. At the time he was nicknamed "Bruiser" for his love of the "BIG" hits. This was also when he played at a rock solid 210-215#. He is an inspiring person, you will do well to learn all you can from him. Especially his passion for life.
I knew the story of this game and thought it was the greatest finish in college football history no one knew about. I'm actually amazed there's any footage of the game at all.
I felt like I was back in 1965 :l
