I wonder why Dawn didn't play Edina , and Jennifer play Patsy in the series? Jen was never really heavy enough to play the overweight role, but would have been great as an alcoholic, past her prime, ex-model.

dawn french is a great actress and could've been a good saffy but julia sawalha will always be the best saffy, she portrays the role so well

@rasputin63 Edina is based of a friend of Jennifer's called Lynne Franks who works in PR just like the character of Edina. Josh Howie, a stand up comedian who is Lynne's son, said that his mother was very upset that Jennifer had based Edina on her, however when Lynne appeared as a contestant in an episode of celebrity come dine with me, she was asked by Michelle Gayle if Edina was based on her and she said that Jennifer took certain aspects of her as inspiration, but she never said she was upset
