I honestly couldnt listen to the whole song, it got boring half-way through. Zach was young here....He shows extraordinary skill, but the lack of format drones along incessantly, blatantly self-indulgent, until the feeling is lost. The runs don't tie together with any coherence, just endless fret masturbation, with no conclusion. Today he is more seasoned, and his licks are more like jewels, rather than large shards of broken glass. But I still love the guy, wish I could play like he does now.
@kickinbackinOC i cant believe u dont think this has structure. it is fast playing but thats zakk, and we know he can play the slow stuff too. but sometimes he just likes to crank it up, but this cover does have structure, its not just mindless scales.
You can tell he's really young in this video by his tone alone. It's soaking wet with chorus and probably flanger. His current tone is a lot drier and straightforward.
