Forever 21 is a fucking chain store! There are no vintage/retro clothes there. If anything that is the most trendy mainstream teen store ever. No true hipster, for lack of a better term, (who would be offended by me calling them hipster) would be caught dead shopping in a Forever 21, therefore these young ladies are posers.

Hipster is basically today's grunge. It's a rebellion from all things corporate, but of course corporations eventually study hipsters and that style becomes stores like American Apparel or Urban Outfitter. The "find the irony in everything" mindset is actually a mental barrier to block corporate messages in advertising and consumerism. The un-aspirational lifestyle is a reflection of the lack of social mobility in our society. Don't hate the hipster, hate what made the hipster.
