Sean, I'm considering making one of these shirts, and all your instructions seem very clear except for one thing. The diamond shaped gusseting under the arm is a little confusing. Can you elaborate on how to add that part in? Thanks.
When sewing up the sides stop about 4 inches from the either side of the armpit. Then open up the hole in the oppsite direction and cut a piece of fabric to that size. It will be a diamond shape. Sew this piece in and away you go. Once you start it will make sence.
I guess if you needed or wanted more sleeve length and less body length you could lay the patern out with the long part of the blanket going across the body rather than down the trunk.
In this case you would simply fold the extra sleeve length in the arms to make a nice cuff rather than having to ADD peices to make a cuff.
kool good work

Search Youtube for "wool blanket paracord modification" or check out my chanel. I have a neat trick for camping with wool blankets!

I used to make "tunics" like that for reenactment.
It's a fun project. Well worth the time.

You are correct with your idea, but I purposely wanted the long tail.
