  • fantastic.ive always said to my wife that if we had the money for a nice place with a large garden it would deffo get its own railway...it has to be done

  • They do work just the same - fuel (alcohol) in the firebox heats water in a multitube boiler, steam is then superheated, goes through the cylinders etc. Full Walschearts working valve gear.

  • Exelent, love the 9Fs, especialy Evening Star. Do these things work on the same princple as a real steam locomotive?

  • Cool I just love it what companies make the locos or are they scratch/kit builds. Pleas take a look at my vids and channel. Thanks

    Alex

  • It is 1:32, gauge One, and in Washington state, USA.

  • @svrronline the chuff is beautiful! Did you add a chuff inhancer

  • Cool is it in England?? I model 00 gauge but someday it would be cool to have trains this size. What gauge is it??

  • This is my layout, it is 700ft long with 24ft radius curves and it made for fast express trains!

  • Is this your garden layout. It's amazing and loco is awesome to. Brilliant and thanks for posting it.

    Alex

  • Rich.

Gauge 1 will work on LGB track except that Gauge 1 needs 5-10ft radius and LGB can be 2ft. Roundhouse locos will work on 2ft radius, but the Asters need 10ft. US stock has standard knuckle couplers, and UK has hook and chain.Call me at 253-862-6748 if you have any questions.

  • one other thing how to gauge one models couple, and do different makes of gauge of couple in the same way making them compatible

  • hi brillant video, i currently have an LGB layout in my garden but really want to swap to Gauge one because of all the british engines and the live steam, unlike LGB which is mainly american. i am just worried with afew queries, like will gauge one work on my current G scale track 45mm, or how hard it is to get hold of stock, i didnt want to swap if i was unable to obtain rolling stock or engines,

  • That is to cool.

  • is guage 1 the same as g guage

  • 2-10-0. Very nice. Not exactly a common wheel arrangement.

  • @fafnir242 But a good one all the same. They oughta make a live steam model of the PRR I1-a 2-10-0 and the 4-8-0 too.

  • @Fireheart528 Yeah, that locomotive looks fantastic.

  • @fafnir242 was in britain

  • wow. that smashes my HO scale fake diesel set.

  • @haienbleurgh HO scale has some models that are just as good as this.

  • now that is an express

  • That's the way, that's the way I like it, ooh!

  • Ooh too fast!

  • that is a realy nice train :)

  • How much does it cost to start up a gauge 1 railway and do you need a large garden or is it that just ideal?

  • Hi Andy

You don't need a large garden, just 20x10ft will make a nice compact layout. Cost about $1000 for some track and a small train.

  • @svrronline What about one like this with the shelf for the track built into the fence?

  • @AndyFisher142

Do it the american way. Get a lot of creditcards and go into debt

  • Very nice footage - that's really great. A Company called "VideoVest" do a miniature CCTV camera with USB output - it's about 1" x 2.5" (25mm x 60mm) and perfect for Locos of all sizes.

  • is there a web site i could go to and purchase that

  • I just have a regular digital camera with video option, and I walk alongside the train. No dolly or stabilization.

  • And what the hell kind of dolly you use for this great following side by side?

  • Great Video, 5 Stars! I work at Bekonscot Model Village and we have a Gauge 1 Weekend every year, and you would be welcome to bring it!

  • Well.. thank you for the invite! When I'm next in the UK I'll give you a call, I'd love to see live steam at Bekonscot. I went there when I was a kid in the 50's, and again in the 80's. It's beautiful.

  • Thanks, we dont actually run the live steam on the perminant track as most steam is out of gauge for it, so we bring another track in for the weekend!

  • It is gauge 1, 1:32 scale.

  • What gauge is it?

  • Great film making.

  • beutiful loco m8.....just as good as the real thing....great layout too..!!

  • The speed control is done by the regulator, which y ou can see me adjusting at the start of the video.

  • very nice

how do u control it ? i see ur doing sumtin at the start ? how to stop it tho ?

  • is it steam

  • yes

  • very nice you have ther

gardon ralway you have love it A++++ 100%

  • I cant believe how much 'chuff' she's got for a small engine. What a cracker!!!!!

  • All I have is a Kodak digital still camera with the usual video option. I walked backwards most of the time!

As for the r/c. It's pretty crowded in the cab and I think it will be a challenge to get 3 channels in there. I'm not an r/c expert. Good luck!

  • I'm planning to buy one, would like to know if the train is rc or as shown in the video, controlled manually? (so if u want to stop it u have to catch up with it and swtich it off)

  • Hi.

Unfortunately all of the 9F's are sold. My train is manually controlled.

    Regards,

    Pete Comley

  • Wow. She sounds good.
