The noble is not a "track car" it is daily driveable. Neighbor has been daily driving his since 07, with NO problems at all. My friends dad also daily drives his 09 vette ZR-1
IT's still part of the ford company ,some may not know that the Volvo is a subsidy company of ford UK the motor is built by volvo which in turn makes the noble another super car in the ford's bag of dominance.ford rules hands down!!!
It's very much British Sports Car/ Lotus thinking with this car. It keeps things simple, with the result being exceptional performance. For this car's bhp bracket, it's extremely good, sacrificing ultimate bhp and torque, for car balance, and focus
...I would like to see one these against, a Ferrari F430 despite the power difference. Next great Noble to come is M600, in testing it's already quicker than Porsche Carrera GT.
almost just as good, to bad the edmunds driver had a horrible 0-60 in the zr1, but the m400 costs about the same but in america you have to basically build your own. Its a nice car though but i would rather take the zr1 especially considering the modifications tuning companies can do to the zr1 (hennessey for example)
yeah but its also a v6 and you take a zr1 to hennessey and you get 755 hp, yeah i would rather not spend the time to build it plus i don't know how that warranty is going to work out
@halflife103 The Noble Probably gets to its Top Speed quicker than the ZR1 lol. & i dont mean cause its got a lower top speed, just the fact it accelerates so hard
@halflife103 yes i agree... sucks for all the ZR 1 fan boys weeping right now while watching this video knowing that whatever they post as comments wont mean jack shit because the corvette can't stack up to the noble in the end .. hahahahahaha!!!!
You don't buy the car un-assembled. If you buy brand new (which you can't anymore cause they stopped importing) then its shipped less trans and motor. Then the importer sends it to a shop for install and there you go. When you pick her up its a turn key car. There are plenty of aftermarket US tuners that build the Noble. Mine makes 529rwhp. Type in "Noble Enzo" and you'll see my Mechanics Noble run against an Enzo. He has 790+ RWHP. Just though I'd clarify
in my opinion the ride height is too high the wheels need to be a little smaller and it needs some lowering springs and straight pipes and a boost upgrade
Why would it need those? Sure, that would be sweet, but it walks all over cars that have considerably more horsepower and cost twice, three times, even four times as much.
well if i bought a noble those would be the upgrades i would buy. i respect your opinion of leaving it stock and realize that it is a huge bargain for performance but hey it can always be just that much better.
I understand what you are saying, and respect it as well, but when is enough enough, ya know? I mean, would you buy a 1000 HP Veyron and then take it home and starting modding it? LOl
well for one i wouldnt buy a Veyron for two reasons. one, they're just not worth the money, and two, they're not really track cars. i would muck rather buy a Zonda or an Enzo or a Keonigsegg. at least they can be modded a little and they can be pushed up to or passed the Veyron's level once modded.
That wasn't really my point, but ok. What I meant is, when is enough enough? At some point it just becomes bragging rights pwer that you can't even put down to the ground.
yea enough is enough when power takes over traction and all a car will do is spin. And theres a saying going around: YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH POWER, JUST NOT ENOUGH TRACTION. the saying is intended for horsepower freaks (not the company) and unless you are a HPF, then power is limited due to traction lack or whatever u wanna call it. i dont wanna sit here and argue but im just trying to state my thoughts.
The point at which an M400 would not be able to put the power to the ground is about 700bhp, a few cars are being raced on tracks at this power. a set of R888 racing compound tyres, really do lay down the rubber and produce tremedous grip, the perfect chassis and balance with sophisticated suspension, means this car never suffers from roll, the extra power enables you to slide the back end out, the only way you can lose control of an M400 is if you let off the accelerator.
The M400 has design flaws which can be vastly improved. The Exhaust is very restrictive, the intercooler is too small, the standard ECU map is very weak and the car requires serveral Aero mods in order to get air through the engine bay properley.
These cars are an out of the box base model racing car, they really need work in order to reap the full potential, i find they run nice when tuned to 500bhp+ which the car can easily handle without compromising handling.
Straight pipes and boost upgrade yes, but the car setup with regards to handling and ride is pefection out of the box. You can lower the suspension on the adjustable spring over dampers by 30mm without problems.
225/40/R18 front, 265/35/R18 rear, you can go up to 235 and 285 on width without problems. This car will tear up the road before letting go on some racing compund tyres.
What is even more astounding is that it is just a small company. No huge sponsorships are large amounts of capital set aside for R and D. Amazing. I think I may just have a new favorite car.
Kit car LOL. More like 3 shipping crates for a production car. In Europe it is a production vehicle. For the US they merely forget to final assemble it and ship it over here. This bypasses the federalization issues.
Brakes are AP racing bespoke. No ABS is the reason the distances are not killer. Just a pad update improves this also.
@xxMafia101 actually its quite relevant .. considering ZR1 just got beat by one car .. so therefore your comment is more so on the irrelevant side ... and by the way its irrelevant , not irrelevent.
You can't really use a Corvette as an every day drive car unless you just want your ego to show off ... its not economical enough to be an every day drive car
@carfan2k2 LMAO @ Your statement. one I have two friends that daily drive Vettes just fine. An the guy live up the street from me, has been daily driving his 07 noble since he bought it. No problems...Soo, your statement is inaccurate man.. Practicle,no. but it is done.
@ironchopsticks it depends what you want the car for... if you want a track car.. go for the Noble .. but if you want a track car only at times and a daily driver .. the GTR would be better .. cheaper too i think than the Noble
@xxMafia101 You can use it everyday if you need to but its not made for that and would be a waste. All that potential just sitting in commuter traffic everyday would be unecessary, but if need be, it can definitely do it. I drove mine accross the west coast in a road rally and it drove wonderful.
Yeah...but the Vette is STILL the best buy for the money...The vette will beat this car on any straight distance course longer than 1/2 mile. and cost 30K less. Also this car has NO dealer support in the US while the Vette has a full warranty.
In the United States, the M400 is classified as a kit car because its chassis, engine and transmission are sold separately. The rolling chassis is actually built in South Africa, and 1g Racing in Hamilton, Ohio, sells it for $72,500. The basic 3.0-liter Ford Duratec V6 is assembled by AER Manufacturing in Carrollton, Texas, and lists for $4,400. Snakebite Performance, sells the transaxle and all the ancillary turbocharging hardware for $17,700. Total cost around 100K for very fast Go Kart
..........79mph around the slalom?! Absolutely INSANE! Anyone know of any other factory car that can match or outperform this speed around the slalom?
Hold on did they just say that it can be a daily driver? They must be smoking crack. Topgear and fifth gear reviewed it and they said it was a track car.
I bet this could be a daily driver, as long as you have a spouse with their own car. Noble has claimed this too. Noble has even said that since the seats have been moved inward from the placement in previous models, more room has been given to occupants. Noble also says that the new M400 is keeping the aspect of 'race-car meets road-car' and that the M400 is much more than a track special.
Theirs one here in memphis for a couple of years now, the same guy also owns a Ultima GTR, both have steering wheels on the left, wipers, blinkers, highbeams, and number plates, (Tags if you will)
Its called a "Road car" like many other cars that dont go through crash tests, or have airbags in them.
And Top Gear said it was a good driver that you could live with, i dont know what the other guy is talking about?
Now thats what im talking about, cheaper than ZR1, hands it its ass, looks better, out performs it for the most part, and is just plain better.
I must say, i do like the Rossion better, it has a much simplier look, uses the same frame (i think) and much of the design is the same, same drivetrain also.
Oh yeah, for the Nah sayers, a simple $350 boost controler, few more PSI, and this thing is running 10's no prob's.
BLAST FROM THE PAST!!!!!!!!!!! this thing looks like its from the early 90s anyways who makes it what engine does it use never actually heard of it but its good looking and performing.
If you look up the company and info, you will see that it is a kit car and that is why it isn't a mass production vehicle. They are made to order and are amazing cars still, but they are the same as Mosler, Ultima, etc.
It is an amazing car but it is a kit car. Most kit cars can embarass factory cars because factory cars take a lot more creativity. This type of vehicle is easily replicated and not as groundbreaking. If Noble starts mass production, then the car will be worth it but until then, I will stick to Lambos, Porsches, Ferrari's, etc. The car is an 8 out of 10. -1 for Originality and -1 for not coming with a transaxle. They ship to Hamilton, Oh though so kudos for that.
this thing is quick! and that skidpad and slalom are pretty damn impressive too. brakes are the only downside really...and the looks kinda too but fuck it.
Agreed! All those numbers were ridiculous, but the breaking. It can't be the tires with those amazing grip numbers, it must be poor brakes and/or ABS.
wht not compare this car to the gtr ?

wow , always have loved the nobles, nice 0-60, and what r you talkin about the brakes are really good!, also nice skidpad.
mccaslin 3 years ago
Is not a Kit, but you can buy it in a Kit form.
Good day

Amazing slalom, 1/4 mile and skid pad!

If you look up the company and info, you will see that it is a kit car and that is why it isn't a mass production vehicle. They are made to order and are amazing cars still, but they are the same as Mosler, Ultima, etc.
simpleman2001 3 years ago
does this thing still run a Turbo'd 24v DOHC engine from a Taurus?
shadystang27 3 years ago
i absolutley love this car, and it's priced well for a super car.

Man almost 80MPH in the slalom! The Rossion Q1 is the same car but has a cooler looking front. It is about 75K from Rossion themselves.
112namrepus 3 years ago
I thought i was the only one that heard of the Rossion?
And YES, the Rossion is very nice, one of favorites for sure.

Nope I'm the dude!

I have been waiting for Edmunds to review a Noble for a looooonnnng time.

They ship to Hamilton, Oh though so kudos for that.
simpleman2001 3 years ago
people who will buy this car probably won't even care how it looks

it is a very well balanced car, the only thing that sucks about this car is its top speed.

I don't know why most of the other manufacturers don't make a car as light as this car instead of just increasing the engine output.
faketrucz 3 years ago
this thing is quick! and that skidpad and slalom are pretty damn impressive too. brakes are the only downside really...and the looks kinda too but fuck it.

If edmunds got these numbers, i wonder how much better they could be with professional drivers!

Just what I was thinking! This car is as fast as a Ford GT!
112namrepus 3 years ago
It looks good but the spoiler ruins the look.
Aside from that it looks like a fun car to drive.
FANADICALCOWHEAD 3 years ago
not bad- the brakes and exterior could be better.

wow 79.4 MPH through the Slalom that is pretty quick amazing!
87TAGTABANDIT 3 years ago
haha awesome!!..cept for the braking...
skyline92b 3 years ago
Agreed! All those numbers were ridiculous, but the breaking. It can't be the tires with those amazing grip numbers, it must be poor brakes and/or ABS.
