This is just an educated guess, based upon having sung in choruses and choirs myself, and having listened to Take 6 for years, but I would say there are:
2 first tenors
2 second tenors
1 baritone
1 bass
(I'm very sure about the 1 bass, however)
Keep in mind, though, this is the original membership. After Mervyn Warren leaves and is replaced by Joey Kibble, your guess is as good as mine.
they are good. look there are some girls called the cadet sisters and they sing acapella. they are real young- look them up. their harmony reminds you of take 6
Got to have Thanskgiving with the guys a long while ago. What an experience! Go SDA!!! Mark and Joey, you guys are inspiring to your little cuz!! Thanks!
Unbelievable edit job on this video! Forget that its a crazy difficult interweave of harmonies and rich tones, the masterful edit of the video must be acknowledged. I mean count the cuts! There were enough scenes that there was little repetition and the was no jarring off beat cuts. I just saw the Norah Jones video "Don't Know Why" and it was awful. Whoever cut THAT video could take a lesson from these guys. I was impressed.
This how I love to hear them. Here they got it all!!! Not the too often thight mixed/falsetto voice in upper register constantly throughout a song as they sometimes do.
Got damn, last time I heard this song was when I was six years old. Its shame how the mainstream media doesn't even care snogs like this exists. Now I gotta do some google searching to see if I can go cop album. Cuz vocally ain't nobody touchin this group, period.
I was only 12 years old when this song came out & I loved it! I can remember always taking my mother's cassette tape to listen to it over and over again.
wow I've been trying to find that Spread Love intro since I heard it on the single!!! Props 4 posting this. "Noobody can test them when it comes to tight harmonies"? Yeah I'll co-sign that.
i listened to these guys almost religiously as a small child - were talking every night as i fell asleep for years on end. theres definately something about them
I don't have one I have many... but if I had to choose it would be Sonshine.
My favorite songs on the album are So Cool, Sonshine, and A Few More Miles... I also LOVE listening to Track 12, the interlude. I wish that was a full song- that probably would've been my favorite.
good sound, excellent harmony, impeccable timing. i think music like this stopped in 96. as one could tell doing this song took practice. a lost art form in todays music.
this song is way 2 GOOD!!! i love it and always loved every since i was a baby!! GO TAKE6!!! Joey replaced Mervyn by the way.Take6 is the best and always will be!!! nun of yall should say otha wise either!
I know that is what God tells us---Spread Love! Spread Love! Spread Love! Also see 'Love is My Religion' by Ziggy Marley and One Love by his father Bob Marley.
Not Brian McKnight, but his big brother Claude McKnight was a member. They look just alike but Claude is bald now and is about 9 years older (does not look it!) A lot of people think Brian was a member but he was not, he was too young when the group formed. I see where he gets his inspiration from however!
Even if Boyz II Men started before these guys, they have nothing on the harmonies of Take 6. Too bad Brian McKnight didn't do Gospel music like his brother in Take 6.
Boyz II Men started after them. Take since formed in 1980 and hit the National scene in 1988 with this video. Boyz II Men did not hit the National scene until 1991. In 1980 they Boyz II Men weren't even pre-teens yet.
Im feeling this song. Spread Love is the best song. What the world needs is the Lord to take all his children and fulfill his promise for us. Take 6 and all the rest of us. Thanks gentleman for your message, we all need that!!
I don't know, "So Much to Say" had some good songs on it as well, and let's not forget the album where they had Queen Latifah guest rapping as well as doing a cover of "Biggest Part of Me."
sounds likes they used instruments for this songs their voices are compact and the harmony is incredible cant beleive this song was recorded more than ten years ago
this guys have been around for more than ten years and they have been norminated more than ten times at the grammys one hell of a track record that other singing groups should learn and that s to stay together and acheive success. this guys are simply stupendous

just to make some clarification...David was always in the band, as well as Mark Kibble. It was JOEY Kibble that replaced Mervyn Warren.

Although it's worth stating that when Joey joined, Dave effectively replaced Merv, since he nows sings all the lines that Mervyn used to sing.
