  • how many voices (tenor, bass, etc)??

  • This is just an educated guess, based upon having sung in choruses and choirs myself, and having listened to Take 6 for years, but I would say there are:

    2 first tenors

    2 second tenors

    1 baritone

    1 bass

(I'm very sure about the 1 bass, however)

Keep in mind, though, this is the original membership. After Mervyn Warren leaves and is replaced by Joey Kibble, your guess is as good as mine.

  • Son el mejor Grupo Vocal del mundo!!!! Excelentes!!!!!!!!

  • ⓣⓐⓚⓔ 6 ⓕⓞⓡⓔⓥⓔⓡ

  • My Grandmother is on the Piano...Giggin'

  • Scienz of Life sampled this for "Hot Bananas"

  • Can you find any "boy band" that can do this?

    I didn't think so!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL HARMONY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anyone else notice Mel Gibson at 2:43? What the heck is he doing there?

Take 6 is wet as money!

  • Awesome to hear it again!

    Spread Love.. Pa-Paaaaraaam! Dooo-Dooo..

Also check the reworkeded version by bozo meko in the late 80's with the turner-drums.

    Love it!

  • they are good. look there are some girls called the cadet sisters and they sing acapella. they are real young- look them up. their harmony reminds you of take 6

  • awesome acapella!

  • I heart Take 6!!

  • classic

  • Got to have Thanskgiving with the guys a long while ago. What an experience! Go SDA!!! Mark and Joey, you guys are inspiring to your little cuz!! Thanks!

  • This is a classic! Can someone tell me why did Mervyn Warren leave the group? He was the original member of Take 6 before Joey Kibble replaced him.

  • Also, I'm related to Mark & Joey Kibble and I'm always at what they can do vocally. Really.

  • They are absolutely incredible. How didn't I know about these guys until now? Incredibly talented gentlemen

  • does anyone know if the studio version of Mary is posted on line anywhere?

there are a couple of live versions available but no one seems to have posted the album version.

  • Unbelievable edit job on this video! Forget that its a crazy difficult interweave of harmonies and rich tones, the masterful edit of the video must be acknowledged. I mean count the cuts! There were enough scenes that there was little repetition and the was no jarring off beat cuts. I just saw the Norah Jones video "Don't Know Why" and it was awful. Whoever cut THAT video could take a lesson from these guys. I was impressed.

  • Truly talented. Their harmony is amazing!!! I still got their original cassette tape from the 80's....somewhere, lol.

  • i saw those men this night in concert in Paris i heard many things but GOD himself touch them by a special gift

best Gospel band ever trust me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • skoda rozpravat

  • Tight, tight, tight! Check out Get Away Jordan!

  • Absolutely, incredibly, great, wonderful, brilliant.

  • I love this song sooooo much!!!! It has a awesome message!

  • Amazing!!!

  • I first heard them in 1989 in INkster, MI - pure harmony and a great message for all.

  • great harmony

    amizing group!

    love so much take six!

  • awesome tight harmonies

  • This how I love to hear them. Here they got it all!!! Not the too often thight mixed/falsetto voice in upper register constantly throughout a song as they sometimes do.

  • This is my shit right here.

These guys got me through college.

HEAVENLY take6, excellent with Stevie the other night too.... and Drums of Unity.

  • vaya temon!!

  • Got damn, last time I heard this song was when I was six years old. Its shame how the mainstream media doesn't even care snogs like this exists. Now I gotta do some google searching to see if I can go cop album. Cuz vocally ain't nobody touchin this group, period.

  • I HOPE people GET THE POINT of the song

  • That video is so '92! :-D They're awesome, though.

  • holy shit, I bumped into this by pure ramdomness. it's like what i've always been searching for, it's so damn good.

  • It's crazy good!! They are the best vocal group in the world!! YEARH!

  • My only problem with them is.....THEY ONLY MADE THREE MUSIC VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!

    WHY!!!!!!!!!

  • I went 2 there concert... they rocked it.

  • yeah me too. When I was 8 years old, they had a concert at Norfolk State University. That concert changed my life!

  • Even now, this song gives Me chills just as the first time I heard it...incredible talent!

  • Incredible singers fav group......Take 6 or should I say tha Acapella Brotha's!

  • oh man these guys are amazing i saw them at UNC festival

  • great great song heard this last year im 15 love it for ever!

  • old school is always better.

  • I was only 12 years old when this song came out & I loved it! I can remember always taking my mother's cassette tape to listen to it over and over again.

  • one of my all time FAVORITE Take 6 songs. I love you guys SO MUCH!

  • never heard anyone do it better.... & that's real talk..

  • The brothers of Take 6 have crazy talent. If I could sing likr them, I would be a millionaire!

  • you don't have to be Christian to enjoy Take 6....it's uplifting music regardless. Just insane, I would do anything to sing like the bass.

  • wow I've been trying to find that Spread Love intro since I heard it on the single!!! Props 4 posting this. "Noobody can test them when it comes to tight harmonies"? Yeah I'll co-sign that.

  • i listened to these guys almost religiously as a small child - were talking every night as i fell asleep for years on end. theres definately something about them

  • Me too!!! LOL

  • I love Take 6. They are such good singers. Listen to that melody, wow, that serious.

  • Love them so much!!! Perfect pitch and harmony, with the wonderful message of spreading love.

  • TAKE 6 IS SO CLEAN!!!

  • LOVE IS WHAT WE NEED

  • I love Take 6. "So Cool" is my favorite album of theirs.

  • What's your favorite song from that album? Mine is I'll Fly Away.

  • I don't have one I have many... but if I had to choose it would be Sonshine.

My favorite songs on the album are So Cool, Sonshine, and A Few More Miles... I also LOVE listening to Track 12, the interlude. I wish that was a full song- that probably would've been my favorite.

  • What's your favorite song from that album? Mine is I'll Fly Away.

  • Real, raw talent! This is what real music is. Love these guys.

  • good sound, excellent harmony, impeccable timing. i think music like this stopped in 96. as one could tell doing this song took practice. a lost art form in todays music.

  • I love this song!!!! We don't hear music like tghis anymore.

  • No the industry replaces groups like Take 6 for something like.......... Pretty Ricky.

  • talent!

  • hey tahsa check this out

  • this song is way 2 GOOD!!! i love it and always loved every since i was a baby!! GO TAKE6!!! Joey replaced Mervyn by the way.Take6 is the best and always will be!!! nun of yall should say otha wise either!

  • still love it although they dont play it on the radio that much anymore

  • I was a wee little kid when this came out. And it STILL sounds good!

  • esses caras são demais demais demais!!!

    muuuuuuuuito bom!!

  • just to make some clarification...David was always in the band, as well as Mark Kibble. It was JOEY Kibble that replaced Mervyn Warren.

  • Although it's worth stating that when Joey joined, Dave effectively replaced Merv, since he nows sings all the lines that Mervyn used to sing.

  • Good to see with people with taste!

  • i agree with u!

  • School'em, Baby!

  • Thank you for the clarification

  • This music vid was made when Mervyn Warren was with them. David Thomas replaced him in 1990

  • David homas is in the video! Mark Kibble replaced Mervyn Warren in the group! I am a die hard Take 6 fan! Please check out the website!

  • Joey Kibble replaced Mervyn Warren, not David Thomas...

  • This, ladies and gentlemen, is CLASSIC!!!

  • I know that is what God tells us---Spread Love! Spread Love! Spread Love! Also see 'Love is My Religion' by Ziggy Marley and One Love by his father Bob Marley.

  • love them

  • McKnight was part of Take 6, cool!

  • Not Brian McKnight, but his big brother Claude McKnight was a member. They look just alike but Claude is bald now and is about 9 years older (does not look it!) A lot of people think Brian was a member but he was not, he was too young when the group formed. I see where he gets his inspiration from however!

  • Ah I used to love this!!!!!!!! ah where did my childhood go! 'badoooo bap badooooooo, SPREAD LOVE!! dadada' x

  • Good Lord, that was unreal. God did that, period.

  • Take 6 is the best! The greatest ever!

  • timeless!!!

  • Are you a big fan too? I love these cats! Since I was a child!

  • Even if Boyz II Men started before these guys, they have nothing on the harmonies of Take 6. Too bad Brian McKnight didn't do Gospel music like his brother in Take 6.

  • Boyz II Men started after them. Take since formed in 1980 and hit the National scene in 1988 with this video. Boyz II Men did not hit the National scene until 1991. In 1980 they Boyz II Men weren't even pre-teens yet.

  • timeless message, true talents

  • Oeh FINALLY MUSIC ...makes exhale...Thank you KillaBeatz81!

  • Im feeling this song. Spread Love is the best song. What the world needs is the Lord to take all his children and fulfill his promise for us. Take 6 and all the rest of us. Thanks gentleman for your message, we all need that!!

  • I miss the good old days ! lol

  • The first album will always be the best one. Wow.

  • I don't know, "So Much to Say" had some good songs on it as well, and let's not forget the album where they had Queen Latifah guest rapping as well as doing a cover of "Biggest Part of Me."

  • So much to say was tight also. I love that song "I believe" too. Claude killed the lead. I wish someone would post a live performance

  • Not anymore...the newly released album called "THE STANDARD" is jaw-dropping!

  • awsome

  • take 6 is teh best

  • sounds likes they used instruments for this songs their voices are compact and the harmony is incredible cant beleive this song was recorded more than ten years ago

  • make that almost 20 years now

  • this guys have been around for more than ten years and they have been norminated more than ten times at the grammys one hell of a track record that other singing groups should learn and that s to stay together and acheive success. this guys are simply stupendous

  • actually almost TWENTY years!!!

  • THANK YOU!!!! I haven't seen this video in years! Spread Love, no doubt

  • wow....it took me forever to remember this groups name!!! I knew "6" was in it! love them!! good stuff!

  • love them

  • They're so awesome.

  • I didn't know Take 6 has made 6 videos - i thought they're 5.

  • Incredible!

  • NSYNC and Backstreet Boys: y'all better learn how it's done from these guys.

6 brothers, 6 voices, no band, YOU DO THE MATH!

Take 6 is the ultimate vocal band of the century!!!

    SPREAD LOVE!

  • spreeeead love

    dabudarara

    spreeeead love

    dabudarara

    lol

    xD

    very good

    !

  • they sound like a virtual brass band. incredible.

  • This is one of the ultimate breaks. In fact, this was one of the first records I started scracthing and mixing. LOL That hook is killer! and the song itself is just ultra!

  • whos the other tenor who sings THE BESST!!! beside mark kibble. is that mervyn warren? cos it looks a lot like claude mcknight but he mainly sings in falsetto

  • That was the vintage Claude McKnight who used to sing out. Claude actually can sing pretty high in his natural voice, but after this first album, he went to doing more falsetto. I don't know why, maybe because it was more of a strain for him than Mark to sing in the natural

  • woooooooooow!!!!!!!! I love Take 6 , never seen their videos :) and this aone is so cool:) song is awesome during concerts when they tell audience to sing phrases ;D

  • They do let the audience sing phrases! They are sooo funny. In Louisville, Kentucky Mark and Joey would battle each other with runs they would do, their runs were live.

  • Mervyn Warren was just simply untouchable...

  • Man that guy could sing!!

  • YLL BETTA SANG IT!!!!thats all i got to say

  • DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS VIDEO????????

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOUUUUUUU!!!!!!

  • i love every bit of it! thanks!

  • I was singing this song since I was two years old!!!

  • SPREAD LOVE!!! I love Take 6! Imma big fan!
