  • LOL His Name Is DICK HYMAN!!! Thats Funny As Hell

  • @ranchannel

Pitty it isnt DICK HYMEN. That would be perfect. But who would think about putting these two things together right? :)

  • Amazing

  • Don't knock boogie-woogie. Good boogie with a groove is quite hard to do. I know because I can do it once in a while, and it takes a lot! The right hand part has to be absolutely tasteful, too. Mr. Hyman is quite tasteful here in my opinion.

For boogie, I listen to the players with the best and most tasteful right hands, in my opinion, such as Jimmy Blythe, Albert Ammons, Lemuel Fowler, J. H. Shayne etc. etc. Jimmy Yancey was good too. Again this is just my opinion.

  • Mr. Hyman does not claim to be a master, he's just trying to teach what he knows, which to be honest is quite a lot. I wish we did have instructional videos from the "black people" he mentions in this video, but as far as I know they never made any, and also, some of these people were probably reluctant to directly teach white people their stuff, since, you know, it's distinctive and has a special quality.

  • @78chuck Hey DB, time to take another shower.

  • @IndependentGeorge76

I agree. Dick is not being derogatory. On the contrary, he shows his love for this music and makes a great job at explaining the basics in a short time. Thanks to likemyviolin for posting this.
