  • Question, how did you guys get all of your fish and invertabrates? DId you just transfer them in home depot buckets to their new home?

  • How did you catch all of the fish?

  • for some reason i thought about paranormal activity when i saw this

  • @dariolilgangster LOL I can see that now:)

  • where did you put the fish in the mean time

  • @lazycat5000 In toteson the floor. They were fine

  • Hey just a quick question, when you put it all back together, did you have to run another nitrogen cycle? or were you able to just throw all your stored water, corals, inverts etc. back into the tank once you made it to your new place. thanks

  • @Sperryx91 A very mild spike in nitrates but it was gone in a few days.

  • got to do this to my 55 and 30 gallon next week...not looking forward to it

  • that is fucked up music and we have a thousand gallon tank

  • wow is a understatement, but as a new reef aquarist Ive realized all the extra effort is just part of the committment to a great Hobby. What a treat too look at your success keep up the good work, and keep posting timelaps they are awsome

    LittleDavidsReefer

  • wow i thought my 125 sucked to move lol

  • wow this really makes you think twice before getting into this.

  • why you need to move it

  • wow! incredible.

i had a hard enough time getting a buddy to help me set-up my 90G fresh, I couldn't imagine a move like this

    Thanks for posting!

  • what is this funny song? I always hear it, always wanted to know what it was called

  • The song is called Yakety Sax

  • From the show Benniw hill

  • you're awesome

  • That gave me such a head-ache.

  • haha huge monti cap at 3:34 barely fit in the container

  • wow thats intimidating, Im planning a full ~200gal reef for about a yeear or 8mos from now and I'm scared it will be too much for me to handle moving, especially with another move within another year after that possible... I really want a reef but keep having to move nasty dillema

  • wow im never getting a 500 gallon tank

  • WOW now that was a mission. So what happened to the tank after it went out the door?

  • If you take money for every person who checked out the aquarium you will be propelty rich

  • OMG get out of that tank! LOL

only that lil girls should get inside to clean it and so forth LOL

    CRASH!!!

  • The reflection on the glas shows that it is bowing out. I would get a new tank if I were you.

  • All tanks that size have a small amount of bowing in their large panels, it's unavoidable. You're talking about an inch of supercongealed liquid holding in 2 megaliters of water here. Tanks have tolerance limits and this tank would be well inside it. It take a bow of barely a millimeter to throw a reflection off like that, so stop freaking out.

  • There was zero bowing since it was made of 1" acrylic and euro braced. It ws built like a tank.

  • what is the name of the song? at the beggining

  • well when your talking the whole time... i guess it would tke that long. more people just make it more complicated. it be pissed if that many people were standing around watching.

  • union workers.

  • Now please put the setting!!!, that would be great.

  • atleast you had guts to do it yourself, some lazy ass's prefer picking up laborers at the home depot

  • thats so awesome!such hard work. really reminds me of the sims games tho XD

  • This is an incredible amount of work. I appreciate your effort putting this on youtube for others. Great work. I used work at Fin & Feather in El Paso, Texas....had a 3,500 gallon tank in the center of the store with giant Amazon goramies in it. Had to clean it out every 4 months due to toxic levels of ammonia. Extremely diffucult to go and some fish in that tank were hostile. If anyone remembers that store- it's long gone now. It used to be on Lee Trevino Drive near Hanks High School.

  • I cant even begin to Imagine The amount of work involved with a 3500 gal tank!!

  • how come you just didn't use a tube for every bucket instead of doing 1 bucket at a time?

  • Its a lot easier with a lot less chance of the tube accedentally falling out and flodding the floor.

  • how long did that take?

  • 2 days.

  • LMAO!

  • Sorry Guitar5525 , I was going to hit reply to your other post but instead hit "spam" by mistake. I don't know how to reverse it:(

  • haha sick ...loved how fast everything was moving except the bucket! ha

  • Damn. All those people coming in and out just standing by the door and just a few helping? I'd boot'em out and lock the door behind'em for a job like this lolol. Did anything die in the process and is the tank healthy today??

  • wow, that was hilarious if you look at the square window in the door you can literally tell that took from dusk till dawn.

i was thinking hard about getting a setup like that but you have seriously changed my mind, lol.

  • was sum1 in the tank?

  • yes I had to get in tht tank to take all the sand out lol

  • Wow, was that a full day?! Impressive, but where's part II, the Setup??! Haha, I thought your cat had jumped in one of the tanks at around 7min... but it was just a plastic bag.

  • Why was it being moved ?

  • not 500 gal

  • Avoiding that kind of fiasco is part of the reason I keep snakes... not crazy, amazing, fish tanks.

  • kitty running back and forth was really funny

  • yeah im dreading moving my 29g. but this makes me feel more confident.

  • wow and i was complaining about moving my 40 gallon

  • 75 gallon wow dude you are dumbass, the size of the tank is on the height widith and the length, that tank is probably 5 feet deep....

  • Those rubbermaids must have been heavy!

  • That was so cool... looked like a party with every hangin' out

  • how do you move corals? can u please tell me on my channel?

  • I just posted a message on your channel

  • where did it go?

  • To a local fish store. They bought it.

  • s1ckballa you need to actuallywatch the video count the containers and watch how little the water drops!!!!!

  • Im with pokeypuppy... Man this thing is like 5-90 gals stacked front to back maybe, Not 75gals. Its a monster tank! So what size/shape you getting next. I know how it is . I got a 90gal and as soon as I got it I wanted at least a 300 !

  • I want to custom build a cube of about the same size with a center overflow. with the benefit of hindsight, hopefully I will build it better than what I had.

  • LAWL look again

  • are you kidding the dimensions of the tank when they lift it up you can seehow far back it goes

  • That's funny!

  • i was always wondering how to move a reef tank.how did you move the coral submersing a container in water and transporting it to thw big container?

  • good job to move the tank also how to film timelapse

  • dude.... you must have done a WHOLE lot of thinking before that happened.... how much did u get for it? was it the wifies idea? silly tramps.

  • Thats right, I planned this one out quite thoroughly. Ive moved smaller tanks in the 125gallon range in teh past so i had a pretty good what to expect. Getting rid of this tank was my idea so i can move and get a larger one.

  • So did you end up getting a larger one?

  • Not yet. I will soon though.

  • wow after it was gone it looked like you added a room good video

  • why'd you move it anyways 0.0

  • I sold it to a petstore

  • wow, why, what happened to it? You couldn' leave it there, or you were buyijng a bigger tank?

  • Eventually upgrading to a bigger tank is the idea behind this ;)

  • cool

  • Wow, but why you moved?

  • amazing! full credit to you and your army! I moved a 4ft reef tank and that took me 8 hours! loved the cat too ;o)

  • who is babssssss, what a loser

  • yeah babssssssss you loser i bet u were the kid in the playground that boasted that he had better sneakers than everyone................and ur still not grown up

  • LOL!

  • It sure took a lot of talking to move that sucker.

  • Talking = planning on the go ;)

  • dang right it was a 500 gal or close to it. it was as wide as the doorway. did everything survive?

  • Everything made it to the destination ok. However, due some corals died in the months following due to improper care by the new owner :(

  • From that view it doesn't look like 500 gallons at all... It probably extends really far back where we can't see.

  • how the hell is that a 500gal tank??

  • length (72")X Width (48") X Height (36")= 538 Gallons minus overflow and acrylic thickness =~500gallons. The total volume was probably another 200gallon additional.

  • That's good to hear :D Imagine if a visitor came to.. just talk..! Haha, love the video.

  • Congrats!!, You now have a living room,, I only have a 100g... & No couch!!..lol I cant wait till I get it moved.

  • Yeah now I dont know what to do with all that space lol

  • Thats a 500 gal reef tank stacked full of mature coral colonies. tons of hard and soft corals moved. It took us over 11 hrs of constant work to get the monster moved

  • AHaha thats cool. How many people where there? Looked like you had some visitors too. Anyways, where did you move it?

  • maxi, It now resides in a local fish store. Luckely the visitors pitched in and all went smooth.

  • wow! that's a heck of a lot of work!!!

  • You'r not kidding. I still have a hard time beleiving that I was able to get it moved in just a couple of days.

  • Amazing effort

  • That is not 500 gallons a 500 gallon is 8 foot by 6 foot by 4 foot tall what are your dimensions?

  • it look like its 6'x 5'x 30" more than 500 gallon , 8x6x 4 is 1500 gallon just to let you know

  • ok I guess the tank I made out of ply wood and acrylic was a little bit bigger than I thought I thought I had a 500 gallon my tank has the dimensions I gave you but

It actually comes out to be 1195.93 gallons 300 gallons less than 1500 just to let you know

  • What a great vid and you such more to worry about!!!! We are building a 90 gal and this makes me sick to think what comes next....

  • I thought my 75gal salt was a @%@# to move but wow.

  • Oh god, i have also a 500Gal-Basin...

  • Great video

  • Timelapse some of those hawties!

  • Man that sucks having to move it. I feel for ya! Great video by the way!

  • Can i ask why you moved it? and where to?

  • It was moved to a fish store. I just want to take some time off and travel and such. One of these days Ill get one just as big if not bigger.

  • Man, props to you. I'm dreaming of a 180, I can't imagine a 500!!

  • WOW love the music Benny hill show.

  • I'm not completely positive, but i'm pretty sure i saw you inside that tank. haha. that's crazy! i wish i could have a tank i can fit in!

  • now I don't feel as nervous about moving my 200 soon. Nicely done. How long did it actually take?

  • it worked like u said... i have a structure question, how is/was that tank supported??? is there concrete under that floor?500gals of water alone is over 2tons(4,173LB)... i have a 220, and the tank itself is 400LBs...

  • That tank was 500 gallons? didn't look that big...

  • Nope, its full 500Gal. Much more if you consider the two sumps and a cuttings tank.

  • Amen!

  • VERY cool ... you're lucky to have so many good friends! :) Thanks for posting ...

  • video stops playing for at 1:03... refreshed a couple of times, still stops at 1:03... would of loved to see the rest...

  • that happened to me too.... Just manually move the slider to the right a bit and it should continue to play.

  • lol this was one pain in the ass for you guys, anyways this reminded me so much of the sims when you put it in time lapse.

  • sorry i meant cat

did you have any casualties along the way?

  • Luckily everything survived the move even though it was bitterly cold.

  • nice dog lol

  • Man, Thats gotta suck!! Thats alot of live rock. Cool video.

  • Wow! That's a full time job plus overtime. Nevertheless this passion is all worth it!

  • wow, that had to be one hell of a headache! good thing you had lots of help. So... planning another move again soon? Haha!
