I saw this film on DVD not long ago. I think that Clive Owen is appealing because he has that rare ability of being manly but also gentle and vulnerable at the same time. I live near where this film was located just south of Adelaide in South Australia, so this made it very interseting for me. My only complaint about this movie is that I wish that Clive Owens character did not have a job as a sports writer/ reporter. It would have been more realistic if he just had a normal job not a super job.
@jonathan45278 yeah - except the journalist it happened to, and whose autobiography it was based on was that guy. you either accept he was the guy who could have that life and write that book that got made into that movie, or you go back to disney movies and star wars. when the ordinary guy writes that book - maybe that'll get made into a film. probably not. them that has, gets.
@Rowlph77 no. it looks like a real feel good movie but it is absolutely heartbreaking. watch the trailer and be happy with it. don't watch the film unless you want to be weeping from the beginning to end credits.
@jamspice11 Sincerely the movie did not make me weep like this movie was just a tear jerker for girls. It's moving, funny, humourous and so well filmed and directed. The actors Clive Owen and the kids, are outstanding. It's light, and deeply moving at the same time. It's realistic and nothing out of place. It deals with parental issues and it sheds light on how kids and parents cope with their relationship issues.
The movie can sure make you cry! But THAT IS NOT A REASON FOR NOT WATCHING IT!

This movie is not for the faint at heart. This movie will make U weep. I know I almost wept. It is heartbreaking. Literally. But I still love it.

@jonathan45278 but that is Simon's ( the real guy who the story is based off of ) did. If you liked the move then read the book. Its really good. :)
