Ive heard my father talk about rouge waves. Its amazing that we now get proof that they exist. Imagine how many ships who have sunk because of these freaks. And they appear counter intuitive - not from the direction of the other waves but suddenly from the side.. what a nightmare.

I have pulled men from the Berring who went overboard by a so called rogue wave when it swept the deck. "The Rogue wave" excuse was used then also.
